Fuck you. So a single bad experience at a concert suddenly means you can't enjoy his music and furthermore you feel you have the right to cuss him and call him names? You were never a fan in the first place, you piece of shit. Go ahead and delete your account, we don't want you and don't need you. After that outburst I think you need help. And if you don't delete your account you should be banned anyway. Asshole. You're full of shit, have absolutely no fucking grounds on calling him selfish, and majority of the aftershows have been excellent. As for the shows boring you, you obviously know jack shit about live performance and furthermore, music and musicianship. You'd probably say a G-Unit show was exciting.

How fucking dare you hope that he lives a "miserable life"? You want to go down that route? Fine - see how far that attitude gets you. Go and choke on some cold dick, bitch.

There's really no need for this. I hope the mods come down on you for using language like this. This is not the place for it. Sure you feel strongly but there are other ways of expressing yourself.

Not quite fair. I stood with my arms folded. And with the biggest grin on my face. So was I pissing people off? Sorry if I've just seen my lifelong hero for the first time in my life. And sing?! I want to hear Prince sing!!! I know how badly I sing!

Regards to all who enjoyed the show and sorry for all of you who were robbed of an aftershow (live music). I was one of you. Bastards those ticketmaster touts sad

£35 you can't go wrong, er yeah, you could end up seeing some washed backward lookinh artist, playing crappy 70's covers with a Kenny G lite intermission, banging on about computers / loops etc like an old man at rave and then having the cheek to use said technology for the end of the Sat concert.

This was a guy who was cutting edge, always pushing the boundaries and looking forward, thats ended up as a Las Vegas cabaret artist of no relevance for future music.

Embrace new music Prince, stop banging on about the past and bring out a decent album we've been waiting over 15 years.

crappy 70's covers? erm, if you would call bonafide funk classics like "pass the peas" "le freak" and "one nation under a groove" crappy then you have no appreciation of music. it's also worth noting that it's usually Marva and Shelby singing when covers are played...Prince is playing guitar and in the case of "le freak", playing his own music.

Again if you would compare Maceo and Mike Philly to a wannabe like Kenny G you have no understanding of horns. You talk to any real funk head and try and mention fucking Kenny G in the same sentence as the legend that is Maceo Parker? You will get laughed out of town. You obviously have some sort of axe to grind and it's notable there very very few people agree with what you just said.

When the fuck was Prince banging on about computers and loops? He wasn't - he was stressing the importance of real musicianship. In case you hadn't noticed, all the grooves he triggered from the synth were tracks that he had himself composed and played all the instruments on.

No relevance? I beg to differ. Timbaland and Pharrell have spent their entire careers imitating Prince. Justin's at it, too. All these cats in the charts right now are looking to Prince for inspiration. You think that's gonna stop? Hell nah. Contemporary pop music will be inspired by Prince, and MJ more than any other artist for decades to come. Prince isn't pushing the boundaries? Pissing off the whole industry by not following the rules by having his album in stores isn't pushing the boundaries? In music industry circles Prince is being hailed as a marketing genius for that move, do you have any idea how many people are going to try that same thing now, all to lesser degrees of success since they wont be the first to do it? Prince is still single handedly defining the rules and boundaries of this industry. That's a fact. I'm a professional musician myself, signed to Sony BMG and my management is made up of people that have ran large parts of some of the biggest record labels on the planet and discovered and represented artist that have sold millions and millions of records....everyone
is applauding Prince for this move. You're talking about the man who was the first major artist to sell music on the internet. You're talking about the man who straight up said the Internet would be the death of the music industry OVER TEN YEARS AGO. The man who made Billboard change their whole scheme of things only three years ago by including his album as part of the ticket price for a show. And I'm sure I don't even need to go in all the things he did to redefine music and the industry before that. How many fucking boundaries do you want him to push? I can't think of a single artist who has done more than him in that respect.

As for calling 3121 Las Vegas a "cabaret", that proves how many times you went. What, so anyone that takes on a residency in Vegas becomes a "cabaret" act? Don't be so ignorant.

And as for waiting over 15 years for a decent album? Did you miss The Symbol Album? The Gold Experience? Come? The Truth? To claim he hasn't made a decent album in over 15 years is absolutely laughable.

Like Prince.

Hate Ticketmaster.

It's naive to think that Prince has sat in every seat in the O2, and therefore personally endorsed the bad seats in that arena. The 'every seats a great seat' is marketing speak for 'we will run out of brilliant seats, so they are all good so don't feel bad'.

If you had an obstructed view, that sucks, and Ticketmaster should give you a refund. If you bought your aftershow ticket before they put on that disclaimer, Ticketmaster should give you a refund.

The promoter AEG, will promote the seats as all good to take more cash. Blaming Prince and putting your records on eBay is a bit mental.

I'm with anyone wanting a refund for their personal bad experience relating to poor seating or no shows at the aftershow. Vent your frustrations at the right people - ticketmaster, AEG or O2.

Feel free to slag me off from here.....

did the author of this thread join the org just to post his complaint?

if so, you really have to think about the fact that there are tons of prince fans

and tons of them are not members of online fan clubs so they don't know everything there is to know about prince and his ways

truth be told, there is some strange shit that goes along with being a prince fan

i paid a hundred for music club membership and then a hundred for a musicology 2nd row ticket through the club.....and it was a lousy seat so i moved up to the nosebleeds for a much better view and sound quality

it sounds like this london thing has sort of the same problem (unfortunately these are potentially great seats) and that either nobody told prince and his camp about the Musicology Tour sound problems or that he doesn't care

bitchfight this string cracks me up! A month ago you brits were given a free cd and told that P would be playing in your backyard for a month straight. You all were jumping like little girls at a double dutch event! Now your complaining that you didn't have a good experience at one concert bawl! Where on the back of the ticket did it say he would be playing to appeal to you? Prince didn't have your money taken from your hard earned paychecks for the ticket and I haven't heard any preformer gaurantee that you'd walk away feeling like you had the best experience of your life. I've been around since the 80's and to more than 140 shows, paid crazy money for some of the best experiences and some that made me feelin "was it really worth it?". I wouldn't have missed any of them.

I have an idea send him back to the US for the remainder of the month and you'll read our reviews. If this is his so called last stint enjoy it! Prince chose your country to do it in! Just a small suggestion for the remainder of you who are going to see him. Go in expecting nothing and enjoy the rare opportunity your seeing pure raw talent in front of you! Thanks for reading my post!

I am a Prince Fan and have been for almost twenty years what you need to understand my long haired friend is that being a fan does not mean you have to believe or agree with everything this man does!

If I am wright what you are saying is if I cannot commit 100% to the man then I have no right to be on the ORG!

I have an opinion and I am entitled to it and you have no right to tell me that just because I am not one of your fanatical flock I should not be on here!

Tell me something what do you think Prince would respect more, A fanatical fan who no matter what he did would still bend over and take it or someone who would stand up and say sorry Prince I don't agree with that and your being a prick!

When Prince rehearses for the gig he must know that the seating at the back is going to be staring at the drummers arse all night Christ he been doing it long enough to now whether it is going to work or not & when you wait patiently at an after show and you see him in the wings eying up the audience deciding whether or not he is going to play and then decides not to and goes home to bed with a hot cup of coco and leaves you standing there until four in the morning sorry but that sounds like the actions of a greedy pretentious prick to me!

Wow, what a topic!

Anyway, I think it's a shame that anybody gets a bad seat, but it happens. I don't think that is Prince's fault though, it's not up to him to personally endorse every seat. Plus, he tries to move around a lot.

As far as the aftershows, I do remember a notice about Prince not being guaranteed to perform, so you have to expect that. If some people go gung ho and buy all these aftershow tickets I don't know what to say... but it ticketmaster guaranteed a Prince performance, then they should be the ones that give you a refund.

But since his official website said he wouldn't perform on a day, and he ended up performing, that's kind of messed up. So here's a suggestion. For any future aftershow, why not get a refund right now and everyone just refuse to even attend any future aftershows? Just go to the concert, forget the aftershow completely. That's what I'd do.

Come is one of Prince's greatest albums of all time. It's so dark and moody, has such great style, So underground yet so Prince. I've always loved it. Even the black and white cover art kicks some serious ass. An album doesn't have to have mainstream hits to be great.

And about the intermission period music... I don't know, what's the band playing? Id love to hear Renato play the dance, and Maceo on the sax, etc. That's beautiful to me. I think a lot of casual Prince fans don't have an appreciation for Prince's more varied music taste and playing style. He's definitely not all about the hits. I'd love to see him bust out Xenophobia and see the look on all the casual fans faces. smile Priceless.

Bottom line here:-

£30 for a two and a half hour show (no matter what the view) of one of the greatest musical legends of our time AND a free copy of his new album = BARGAIN OF THE CENTURY. Think about it...if you brought the album in the shops new you'd pay at least £10 for it, which equates to paying £20 for your ticket!!

I can't see a downside there, I really can't. How could Prince have been any fairer to the fans? Give the tickets away for free???

Just don't buy an aftershow ticket or go to the aftershow! By now you know it's unpredictable, so get your money back for that and just enjoy the main show.

"I am entitled to my opinion and you have no right to tell me what to do" - the standard line for someone with not much strength in his argument. Well, no shit Captain Obvious. Did I say you are not entitled to your opinion? Isn't it ironic that you claim I have no right to tell you what to do ,when a) I haven't, and b) that statement is completely pointless and fairly moronic since you are also trying to tell me what I can or in this case, can not, do. Way to invalidate a point.

Go ahead and insinuate that I am a fanatical follower who agrees with everything Prince does, I'm actually not, but I don't see Prince as having done anything wrong in this situation and especially not anything that warrants so much verbal abuse. And you are the one talking about what he would respect? Do you think Prince would respect people coming on and cussing him out for no reason? Don't try and justify what these people are doing and saying because there is no justification for it.

As for staring at the drummer's ass, well with an ass like Cora's I sho nuff wouldn't be complaining biggrin

The gig is in the round for fucks sake, the circle where the band are is lowered and Prince and the dancers regularly go all the way round and address the audience on that side, too.

As for the aftershow argument how many fucking times? He doesnt have to play there. He was never guaranteed to play at any of them. He's not a dog at people's beck and call to play at the aftershows. People are acting like they have some sense of entitlement because they payed 25 fucking quid for the afterparty. Guess what, that money is not going directly into Prince's pocket. Actually chances are it's paying for the support acts like Nikka and her band, Beverley and her band, Rashida, Dr John etc. Last Saturday it was understood that there had been problems and as such there would not be any live acts at the aftershow and hence people were offered the chance to swap their tickets for another night. No it's not ideal for people travelling far or only going to the one gig but what would you do in that situation?

Prince doesn't owe you shit. Standing around till 4 in the morning? It's a club with a bar, you're supposed to dance the music being played and get a few drinks, socialize a bit. If you have no concept of that then you must be a right barrel of laughs to hang out with.

Yeah he's making money from the shows....that is what we artists do. He ain't gonna do them for free is he? How the fuck does that make him greedy? Is every popular musician in the world greedy then? Most artists would charge a LOT more for a gig like this and you KNOW IT. I saw MJ in '97 and the tickets were damn near £80/90 if I recall. And he lipsynched the whole thing.

He is doing it for the fans, actually for music fans in general. He doesn't have to play arena's. He could play one club night a year for some celebs and businessmen and make more from that one night than he will for this entire London show. Look at the show he did in the Hamptons.

If that's all he ever did you might be justified in saying he's not doing it for the fans.

Goodness Gracious Me! What a row is all this? Lets stop it now; surely you are all lucky you can even GET to see Prince so many times. Many people aren't that lucky. Gawd knows why y'all feel like yelling and screeching at one another.

If you don't like him, don't go. If you do, do. He's doing his thing. If you don't like it, you can say you don't like it - but is there ANY need to get so damn aggressive!!?!?! People need to get a life. Like me! I went to see Prince last week, got so drunk I missed the 2nd half and probably threw up on a woman wearing a raspberry beret.

Of course I wrote to Prince himself and complained profusely about it, blaming him whole heartedly for allowing alcohol to be sold at his concert. And for making me enjoy myself so much. And for allowing people with Rasberry berets in the buidling. And for allowing people in the building. And for not playing every song he's ever written. And for changing words like sexual to spiritual. And for breathing.

Yarp!

you know what? I am sick and tired of all this crap! I am a big Prince fam. So far I have missed only one of the shows at the o2, and yes there have been seating issues, and aftershow disappointments, BUT, I think we are all losing sight of the main issue here : Prince is here in London and our tickets were just £30, and there is no-one better live. No-one. I suspect some Prince fams get so wrapped up in comparisons, expectations, critiques etc that they forget to enjoy the show. Personally I have loved seeing the hits being played this way - it's such a change - I loved ONA, and my favourite tour to date was LOVESEXY - but I think that this tour is showing that Prince is simply the best when it comes to live musicianship, crowd interaction and well just plain old hitmaking. I genuinely do feel honoured to see him live every single time.

As for the aftershow and main gig seating problems - I think that the issues here lie with AEG Live and Ticketmaster. My only criticism of Prince would be the issue regarding the 3121 article about last Friday/ Saturday. That seemed a bit off. BUT, that said, the DJ playing in the Indigo has been really good, and if you are out for a good night, the only thing that can stop you doing so is yourself.

Please everyone CHILL OUT and enjoy the shows. Imagine if you went to see some other artist, like Sophie Ellis Bexter for one, or Keane, or Scissor Sisters - it would be the same show every single night - no exceptions. Compare and contrast and then say that these Prince shows are not value for money. And remember that it really is not normal to go to multiple shows as so many of us do.

I hope for music's sake Prince does not take these messages to heart.

Prick & the New Power Degeneration.
I hear you.
Dont think I'll listen to him again.
Just makes me feel bitter.
Put in my request to delete my org account.
He talks about doing God's will, but he is selfish and a complete hypocrite.
His shows bore me, and the aftershow fiasco is seriously poor.
Genius?
of cock ups.
May he live a very long and miserable life.
Fairwell all.
Hope you all moan about my moaning.

Perhaps that's why I'm doing a Radio 1 Live Session next month, headlined at Glastonbury in June and just signed a big new deal with Virgin Records.....whereas you are sitting at home calling Prince a prick. So who's really dull?
"

Soooo Militant... you headlined at Glastonbury? Signed a deal with Virgin? Doing a session on Radio 1 next month ? Are you Shirley Bassy? I'll keep my eye out for you... and tell everyone I know about your little rant on the Prince org website... not so cool dude ...

It is not about getting over-excited. It is about not being passive and standing up for something that you believe is right. It is about making your feelings clear about something that is wrong. If you don't care, fine! Cool beans for you! Then why even come in here and offer your 2 cents....pointless 2 cents at that.

Hardly a stalker in waiting. I don't agree with everything Prince does, I don't think every single thing he does is amazing, hell he even shares my favorite artist spot with 2 other artists.....a certain Mr. Cobain and a certain Mr. Shakur (who incidentally, I made a BBC documentary about, last year).

You may have some issues of your own if you are so quick to judge another. Just remember, what goes around. I could sit here and judge you right now. But I'm not going to. I don't know you. I have seen a collection of words you have put together on a screen. I don't claim to know anything about you so if I was to pass a judgement it would hold no weight whatsoever.

If you enjoy acting childishly, throwing out negative vibes and judgements, making false insinuations in a failed attempt to perhaps stir my emotions or paint a picture of my character, keep at it. I hope it spiritually fulfils you and you will be better able to sleep tonight.

As for putting kittens in a bag and drowning them, I am a supporter of P.E.T.A alongside my bandmates, helped launch an entire new arm of the company by allowing them to run a competition in which viewers could win signed copies of our last release (through Sony BMG)....not to mention our de-facto band leader is in their sexiest vegetarians poll this year.....so I could never condone such cruelty to an animal. lol

Re-phrase your metaphor and I will consider giving it a serious reponse.

To answer your 4 questions - Yes. Yes. Yes. No.

Go ahead and tell your friends when you hear the session or see the CD...."yeah that rapper in this band loves Prince and defended him when people cussed him on a website".....somehow I think I'll still end up looking cooler in that situation.....while you might get some weird looks from your mates.

I beleive you could have said what you said to the initial poster and still remained positive, instead, you sunk to the level you felt he was on. And please get off that "I'm positive" tip when I've seen the stuff you post here sometimes.

Possibly so, but nobody's perfect. You've seen this stuff I post here sometimes? Such as? Aside from anything to do with these London shows and me getting mad about people spreading negativity, find me one other instance
where you feel that what I've posted does not allow me to be a positive person.

I don't know: maybe that thread you started in GD a while back about the teacher using the N word with his class? I remember you thinking it was particularly funny and too bad if people on the Org got insulted by it.

That is the thing that stands out for me about you, Militant and if I continue to look around, I am sure I can find you making other disparaging remarks about other people.
