Prince attends Pacifico Show, Family Jamm 2 and an after show to end all aftershows.

Eric Clapton and Nikka Costa joined Wendy & Lisa's Pacifico band for impromto jams while Prince sat in the audience at Largo last night.....

After the show I spoke to Lynn Maybre who confirmed that Family Jamm 2 is in the early stages of planning and is scheduled for next year.

After the Largo show Pacifico headed to Eryka Badu's Sugar Water After Party. Sheila E, Jill Scott, Queen Latifah, Floetry and Pacifico all took turns on the stage...once again, Prince was in attendance but did not perform.

That is really cool. And also I wished Prince would really perform too. And about the family jamm I always wondered when they going to do it again. And they going to have it next year well that is good and also it gives more time to plan it and also to notified people early on about it so people can able able to make arrangements for it and I am going this timearound too if they let us know ahead of time. It also be nice if Family Jamm Tours goes to other cities as well wink

i shared all the info i knew folks.....hopefully others will be able to provide more specifics on what sheila played..

as far as family jamm 2 is concerned i got the impression from lynn that this was all in the early stages.....and theres actually going to be another charity event this year (all these events occuring around sheila's b-day)....so their attention is going to be focuses on that *first*. (and this year's charity will be by invitation only with a couple tixs being auctioned off to the public..)

this i will say, we all need to email mail sheila's camp and let them know that they would sell a heck of a lot more tickets if they let us know ASAP what day the event is going to occur..I am willing to bet that a stadium the size of the first event would have sold out if people had six months (or even better..one year) advance notice...

so, i would honestly recommend an email campaign to get the point across...

Yup yup. I am going to express Sheila E my suggestions included telling people six month to a year advanced, is there a way they can have the event in other cities because you know some people who lives further midwest and in east coast think that kinda far to travel to LA and I know other old school performers go across the USA to perform and also for reached out many fans and I felt that more people will also show up too that way, and promoting suggestions or help too.

Old but interesting notes from W&L's website:

From their "year in review"

First, we saw the one formerly known as “fearless leader”, requesting the presence of one Wendy Melvoin to join him at the taping of the Tavis Smiley show. It was a fantastic show, if only to watch in awe the colors that used to be, suddenly reappearing before our very eyes. It was the pair's first duet in what.....like almost a decade? To think, people still wondered “what was the big deal with Wendy & Lisa?” Well, now you know! Want to see what the big deal was all about? Check it out... (link to the performance)

[...]

Up next was something that all Prince & the Revolution fans thought would never happen. Yes, Wendy sans Lisa was spotted joining Prince onstage -- for the first time in almost 15 years -- at his show in New Orleans. From what we heard, all seemed to go famously and well, I guess pigs can fly!!!

well let wait until what sheila going to say if they going to have it and maybe she going to have it a different date this time, she does charity events year around as well, her lives in west coast hasn't stop her from touring across usa and even gone overseas before for her charity. i felt that she gonna reached more people if she have it more than one location as well. I got the impression Sheila E's camp acknowledge some the mistakes of planning the event last time so don't be suprised some major changes and sacrifices second time around just to get many people to go.

Prince so unpredicable and he only knows his next move or not. Me and Prince have a lot in common and spontaenous is one too. I wouldn't be suprised if he decide to hop onstage with the Pacifico band next week.

It seems to me that OF COURSE Prince isn't going to get up on stage at these events. Have you seen the Romance 1600 footage, with Prince featuring on "A Love Bizarre"? Well then you'll agree...he wouldn't be able to control himself, and would undoubtedly 'take over the show'. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but I think he knows this in himself, and therefore doesn't want to take any limelight away from the other great people up there.

Prince doesn't always have to perform everywhere he goes people! It's nice to just sit and chill wit the regular folk sometime.

Prince and W&L will always have a bond between them. They wrote "Song About" about their relationship and he wrote "In This Bed I Scream" as as "answer" to that song. They have a mutual/musicical respect for each other that transcends all of thier duputes. Who knows, they could all be fooling us all! wink
And yes, he was an ass back in the day. He's mellowed a lot!!!!
