Hello from Indianapolis. A special hello to Aaron.
It's not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I mean, it's the midwest. . .but Matt is here! Who knew?

Got back from Seattle last night, and I already have a plane ticket for another visit next month. I'm not terribly thrilled about the long-distance aspect of the relationship (who would be?), but at least the modern air travel system can get me to Seattle in a matter of hours.
I ought to buy stock in Northwest Airlines... Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position. |

Just the one step-child. She's 10. I asked because I think that parenthood is the context where most monogamous people are able to experience the expansion of love. Parents, when having their second children, often express that they weren't sure they could love another the way they loved the first, but they find that they can. Love isn't a thing that we have a finite amount of, to be depleted each time we love somebody. A new person inspires a new love, rather than sucking away from some pool of existing love. Read that last sentence twice. Does that make any sense to you at all? Here's to more mental chess in the future. But I would go on to argue that the love you have for your children is much, much different than the romantic love you have for your partner. In part due to social construction, but still... I mean, like, where is the sun?

I think it's largely social construction. The actual emotion I feel for all of the people I love is pretty similar. It's the head stuff, and the social stuff, that is different.

I ought to buy stock in Northwest Airlines... Never thought I'd say this, but: air travel ! When I was having an LDR with my husband, we were young, poor, and living on different continents. We saw each other once in the year+ that we were apart. This monthly thing is sooo muuuch beettteeerrr.
