The Book of Boba Fett - Official Org SpoilerThread™

This thread will contain spoilers

So this is the official The Book of Boba Fett thread for the new Disney+ series.

For me, the opening sequence (with the Sarlacc pit, etc) was just as good as the surprise Skywalker scene at the end of The Mandalorian. I'm impressed with the throw back elements (Jabba's palace, the musicians, etc.)

I think this is going to be a really good series.

Thoughts on episode one?

off to a good but slow start.

How did a Storm Tropper get in there? and I did not know they had Oxyagen tanks? (Retcon?)

I was happy to see Max! and that tall robot was cool.

The big question is who are the raiders at that house? (at least I assume that will be part of the big plot).

the youngling Tusken also seems to be something that will be a larger plot element.

I can only assume the Sarlacc has been used as gallows for many, and a stormtrooper in there is probably collateral damage from another battle.

I agree. She's awesome.

On another note, did anyone see the echoing of when Leia killed Jabba in the moment when Boba killed that creature in the desert? Holding a chain on his neck, using their body as leverage to strangle them?

That must be some kinda theme. It was used in the series The Nevers.

Well, Lucas did talk once about how the first three episodes would echo 4-6, like the stanza of a song. Since he's been consulted on these new ventures, and with fans of the franchise writing and directing stuff, etc., I can't imagine something like this wouldn't show up.

The imagery was iconic.

She bores me when she does action. She always seems moody/bored/ bug up her ass/ so I just find her annoying. She's already in the marvel universe so do we really need her to do a Samuel L Jackson. I would rather have a new fresh face in the part. She is one of the factors I stopped watching Agents of Shield

I remember years ago there were talks of a live action Star Wars tv show. All I could think about was it being something like Star Trek The Next Generation lol a lower budget show. But then came The Mandalorian. Disney did a good job with it. Some episodes felt like fillers. But over all I enjoyed it.

A few things on Boba
When they were graging Boba thtough the sand we can see he packed on some weight

The Sarlacc pit looked just like it did in the jedi movie. I wonder if it was the original prop or a recreation. Probably the later.

The Stowmtrooper in the belly was a bit odd. I'd expect to see some of Jabba guards in there. Obviously the tropper been slowly digesting for a while

The bar/cantinas scene was cool. Max Rebo!

There was one scene. It looked a bit like Luke's old home where he lived with his uncle. Maybe all farms look alike.

Bobas skin looks a bit rough or damaged? Was it from the Sarlacc stomach?

I'm not sure where the show is going. Boba wants to be the new crime boss, take out a few rivals.

I wonder if well ever see another Hutt? That be cool

I think it's a recreation. Those were originally in Death Valley and Yuma Desert (AZ). I'm not sure how it was originally created, but with CGI it could've been a really good recreation. ILM did the effects, so whatever it is, it's going to look great.

The stormtrooper seems to throw folks. We have to remember, the Empire was everywhere. Stormtroopers were also in plethora and expendable. To have one in a Sarlacc pic isn't that unusual. It adds history to the pit, show other things transpired there that we don't know about.

I believed it was the old home of Owen and Beru Lars. (On a side note: it's interesting that we all forget Owen and Anakin were step-brothers.)

Wasn't there something Mandalorian about his skin and being in the Sarlacc pit? Maybe it was just a given by the viewer, but yes, that's how I took it. He was scarred and lost his armor. Makes me wonder how he lost his armor to the slow digestion but the stormtrooper didn't. Maybe the stormtrooper was in there in some event after Jabba's demise.

I don't know what's going to happen either, but I've no doubt it'll be good. As far as the Hutts, we don't know about Jabba's wife or offspring, or siblings, but they could very well play into this series. It would mirror having Grogu, being the same species as Yoda. But now they have another Hutt.

Production note: I read where the cast and crew were filming for two weeks before they were told they were filming a new show called The Book of Boba Fett, having believed they were filming season three of The Mandalorian.

He didn’t lose his armour to digestion. He emerged with his armour, passed out and then got mugged by a bunch of thieving jawas “YOUTINI”.

They presumably sold the armour to Cobb Vanth.

Ep 2 was good... it was mostly flashback to his time with the Tuskins... The bikes he took had the same markings as the people in ep 1 that attacked that home. And that set looked like one in deleted scene from A New Hope.

the twins were cool... I wonder if they kept the old lore that Hutts could reproduce asexually?

I had to stay away from my own damn thread until I watched it.

I am loving Boba's back story, and him finding his space in a post-episode 6 world. Him becoming part of the Tuskins is quite interesting. I also enjoyed the Hutt cousins showing up. I didn't remember off-hand what happened to Jabba's wife and kid(s) or whatever. So the cousin thing is interesting.

I knew a Hutt had to show up somewhere and try to claim their ground. It's an interesting looming battle since Fett and Hutt had a previously amicable relationship. The train sequence was a fun romp, too.

Hell if I would have noticed that was the Tosche Station and Luke's friends from the deleted scenes lol Cool i guess.

I figured if we saw a Hutt it be near or on a session final. Never expected twins! I dont follow the animated shows, but I seen a episode where there was another Hutt that spoke English, I'm glad these Hutts speak Huttese.

I enjoyed the back story with the Tuskin Raiders. We get to see a side of them we never have. The train scene was good.

I'm gonna guess the aquatic looking aliens will have something to do with the main story. Oh right and the biker gang.

I am typing this in real time, not looking at any other responses as not to spoil episode 3.

The Hutt twins apologizing: real or no? I wonder. But their gift of a rrancor (BY DANNY TREJO!) was nice. Harkens to Jedi, of course.

The chase throw the city was fun, but the bikes of the kids felt a tad hokey for whatever reason. They colors reminded me of a kid's merry-go-round ride at the carnival. It seemed jumpy and made me think of the "Speed Demon" sequence in Moonwalker. It wasn't as high energy as I would've liked.

It was nice to see the R2 unit, the C3 unit, plus all the other species we knew from the past. Even the C3 unit had a C-3PO "oh my!" moment when caught in the middle of the chase.

It seem as as though the Tuskan backstory ended as soon as it began. But, the story must move forward.

That wookie looks like Chewbacca fucked Predator. lol But kudos on his highlights. Those Gloria Steinham streaks are on point.

I didn't like the style of the bikes either. Too clean and flashy for Tatooine. One had like 8 rear view mirrors? Really lol. They definitely did not blend in. Oh and young adults cant get work but have nice bikes.

All the Tuskins died? Fuck! They were starting to grow on me. Maybe someone survived?

I've grown to see Chewbacca as a giant teddy bear. But this Wookie is fucking menacing. And that sucker bites! 😂

I don't trust The Hutts. The gift of the Rankor was a nice jester. Bonding with a Rankor would be cool to see. Wonder if its really under Dannys control, possibly used as a weapon against Bobba. Hope not

Still not sure where the story is going. Only 4 episodes left.

I'm enjoying it, but I don't like how they've made Boba so dumb. Fennec sorts everything. There is plenty of deep cut fan service, but the pacing of the show seems a little off and there seems to be too many continuity errors / plot conveniences that keep taking me out of the story.
