Can't think of any. I wonder how all these places here survive, nobody ever claims to eat fast food, yet they all are here. Perplexing. Honestly I don't get the big deal of most.

I´m not really a fast food fan but today was one of those rare days where I had two McDonald´s cheeseburgers and some fries, a coffee and a sundae even though I can´t stand McDonald´s food but the simple cheeseburgers and double cheeseburgers are quite ok and easy on the stomach pre-workout.

After my workout I had a really good burger at a burger joint that a friend of mine opened recently. Not a chain but really good homemade burgers and fries in an elegant yet cosy atmosphere.

-

As far as fast food chains are concerned, I do like the occasional Five Guys burger with cajun style fries, but we don´t have them here. But two days ago I had the chance to get some Five Guys fries and a burger elsewhere but had to catch my train so I could only finish the fries and the milkshake and ate the burger on the train and it was already a bit cold, so the experience left me underwhelmed. lol

I´d like a Five Guys here just so I can eat their cajun style fries and maybe a little cheeseburger but I don´t think I´d be a regular customer. I think a White Castle would be nice, too. Their burgers are very tiny and the rest of their menu sucks but I like a couple of sliders once in a blue moon.

.

Other than that, we already have more than enough fast food chains here.....Burger King, McDonald´s, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and a bunch of non-franchise local fast food joints that are pretty good.

.

I´d much rather see more diversity here........better pizza joints, better döner kebap joints than the standard low quality ones we have here, and definitely more fish and seafood.

But I am not a big fan of all those chains.

.

I´ve never tried In N Out burgers. Are they better than Five Guys? Their fries look a bit bland.

I understand that you don´t have as many fast food chains in Hawaii as you have on the mainland but are there any chains that you have there that the mainland does not have?

And is there a big price difference between Hawaiian Mc Donald´s chains and the ones on the mainland? Or any other franchise restaurants ? I´d imagine that beef is more expensive than in places like the Midwest or Texas.

I find it interesting that some of the American fast food chains have better and healthier food in Europe than in the USA due to stricter regulations.

For example, they tested the tuna fish at Subway´s in the USA and it barely contained any tuna meat.

And the soft drinks contain real sugar in Europe, not high fructose corn syrup , and most taco places here use much better ingredients than Taco Bell (which is really easy to do since Taco Bell´s ingredients really suck).

Some places, on the other hand, are slightly better in the USA.....for example Five Guys and maybe KFC....the chicken over here is probably of a better quality compared to the USA but in the states they offer a bigger selection of sides.

-

That Hawaiian Mc D´s breakfast does not look very spectacular. wink

It's pretty yummy, but hey it's what I grew up with. We like spam, eggs and rice here in Hawaii. Yeah coke in the Philippines also has real sugar in it and taste better

I don´t mind the spam, eggs and rice but it looks a bit bland.

Then again, it´s just a breakfast and probably doesn´t need any condiments, veggies or whatever.

Not sure where you are from. Not from the U.S I'm guessing? What popular food chains do you have that the rest of us not might be aware of?

We have most of the American fast food chains here in Germany, too, but , like in the US, it depends on the region. Bigger cities such as Berlin have Dunkin Donuts, Burger King, Mc Donald´s , Kentucky Fried Chicken, Five Guys and Subway. You can find those in basically every German city except for Five Guys, which has three restaurants in Berlin and I think in Cologne , Frankfurt and Hanover but they are still quite rare.

As far as local chains are concerned, there´s Peter Pane burgers, Hans im Glück burgers (both not really my thing), and the Vietnamese franchise Mai Mai which offers very generic "Asian" style stir fries , and of course Nordsee, a fish restaurant that can be found in most cities and even in many other European (and in some American) cities. And of course lots and lots of Turkish döner kebap places but it takes some experience to find a decent one.

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRsDKyk42NRBFpXYCZgiBSBlkK8E6RrVOeFRg&usqp=CAU these days.

Those döner kebaps differ from city to city and the original ones in Turkey are quite different. The German-Turkish ones are served differently, with more ingredients such as salad, tzatziki garlic sauce, hot sauce, onions, red cabbage salad etc. etc.

.

And then there´s classic German street food such as bratwurst or curry wurst, which is some sort of sausage with spicy ketchup and curry powder.

Or German fish sandwiches, or fish rolls, which can be quite delicious.

Um the headline isn't that you can get canned meat at McDonald's, but rice! & decent looking, clumpy, moist rice, not the dry separated rice that white people eat, no offense.
