In And Out Burger. Del Taco. Actually I want Ohio to be California.

Yeah In and Out needs to go nation wide. All in California, I think one in Las Vegas maybe, not sure

five-guys-in-n-out-burger-wars.jpg

They're practically on every corner in AZ now.

AZ finally got one singular White Castle. The frozen aisle versions were the worst food ever.... Finally tried the original. Fantastic. Honestly Top 5 fast food joint material.

But while we're on AZ, there's a local chain of fried seafood called Pete's Fish and Chips. they put this sauce.. The Pete's Sauce. The most heavenly sauce of all time. It could make an uncooked leather shoe worthy of seconds and thirds you slather it in that Pete's Sauce.

29313654_10155978188177900_6256325143203676160_n.jpg?_nc_cat=104&ccb=1-5&_nc_sid=9267fe&_nc_ohc=YPN5so78WFoAX9Hdyko&_nc_ht=scontent-sea1-1.xx&oh=cf4129f8a9cf45006ebde7eab500652a&oe=616E3205

Dip in The Pete's Sauce, suddenly that generic fish and chips is transformed into an absolute contender for the GOAT of all fast-food.

It's a very southwestern flavor... Basically "spicy ketchup" but so much more than that. Perfect spice level if you're not crazy about spice, yet still sastisfying to the spicy elitists. They give you like 2-3 containers with a 5-piece but you'll end ordering an extra 16oz cup for extra slather. Truly worthy of going national what with the sauce mania all the contemporary joins indulge in these days.

As someone who grew up with Sonic, they are not the same as they used to be. Even their trademark cherry limeade tastes like cherry 7-up now. I was so disappointed when we finally got one here in Albany.

There's still talk of a Chick-fil'a coming. I grew up with that, too.

In-n-out and Fatburger was good in L.A. I miss Church's Chicken, it beats KFC (but what doesn't?). Del Taco was good, too.

I still think local places are the best.

From Oklahoma, we had Braums. It's still there, but they only have stores within 150 mile radius from Oklahoma City (to maintain freshness; they're based in OKC). We'll never have them up there, which is another reason to move back home.

I understand that you don´t have as many fast food chains in Hawaii as you have on the mainland but are there any chains that you have there that the mainland does not have?

And is there a big price difference between Hawaiian Mc Donald´s chains and the ones on the mainland? Or any other franchise restaurants ? I´d imagine that beef is more expensive than in places like the Midwest or Texas.

Well we finally got an Olive Garden here, wish we had Sonic.

Actually we have a lot of fast food chains here such as McDonalds, Burger King, Jack in the box, Wendy's, Arbys, KFC, Popeyes, Pizza Hut, Dominoes, Little Ceasars, Papa Johns, Taco Bell, 5 guys, Panda, subway and so on

Hawaii is known for Zippys. I heard they may open one in San Francisco area, not sure.

We have spam for McDonald's breakfast, not sure if they have that on the mainland

Curious, where is this L&L located?

I don't know where the one pictured is but they are all over here. There's another Hawaiian Bbq place but I forgot it's name but it's growing. It's crazy when I stop and tick off the various fast food places around not counting taco shops, and just rows and rows of restaurants Long John Silvers is with KFC last I saw. There's still an H.Salt Fish and Chips around, grew up on that. I go to Chef John's these days. Never seen a White Castle though. I went to one in St Paul MN, we don't need it. Sonic is popping up all over. In and Out stays with long lines around the block (I don't get it but ok). And the 50 different chicken wing places.
Time keeps on slipping into the future...

Oh, that´s quite a lot. I forgot to mention that we have Dominoes here, too.

One very underrated chain that I discovered a couple of years ago in Chicago is Culver´s .

I had a couple of burgers at Culver´s in Chicago and they were great, and then had some in Wisconsin which were even slightly better. They have this thing called Butterburger that´s really tasty, and their sides and ice cream are great, too. If we had one here I´d put on lots of weight.

Many , many years ago I went to a Dairy Queen in North Minneapolis and they had some great burgers. Years later I went to a different DQ which had burgers, too, but they didn´t taste as good as the one I had earlier.

I´d love to see more Fatburgers, Dairy Queen and Culver´s here but that probably won´t happen. Wendy´s is another underrated fast food joint. I think they make some great burgers.

The few Five Guys we have here are ok but for some reason they constantly fuck up the orders. I mean , you order something, and then you see that your burger does not contain what you ordered at all.....even if the order is a simple cheeseburger with mustard, relish , onions and ketchup. I ordered that a couple of days ago and all I got was a lousy cheeseburger with mayo. The American Five Guys aren´t like that.

I really like this thread. I could discuss fast food all day long, especially the international differences. However, I am still not a big fan of fast food and try to avoid it as much as I can...but I just love talking about it and trying it out if I haven´t eaten at a certain restaurant yet.

lol

But it´s a terrible thing when you think about it and I try to support local places as much as I can.

Talking about local....Top Notch Beefburgers in Beverly, Chicago is a pretty decent place.

It is not THE best place in Chicago as many magazines claim and there are surely better places but it is still a great hamburger joint nevertheless. And their milkshakes are really, really good.

I have no idea why they serve their burgers open though. I´ve seen that at other places, too.

When my mom died in 2012, my best friend and I drove to Oklahoma City. When we got to Missouri, we stopped at a Dairy Queen to get some lunch. I didn't think twice about them serving white pepper gravy with the fries. He thought it was ranch dressing at first.

He said, "Oh, this is gravy?!"

"Uh, yeah."

"Hmm, this must be a regional thing."

"No sweetie, it's a Dairy Queen thing."

Popeyes restaurant is seen on February 21, 2017 in Miami, Florida. Burger King and Tim Horton's owner Restaurant Brands International has announced...

Love the Popeyes that are located in Louisiana. For some reason, the ones outside of Louisiana have not impressed. Others have shad similar experiences. When their spicy chicken, red beans, and biscuits are done right, it is delicious though likely fatal if eaten too often

The red-roof hut-shaped buildings with the lunch buffet, shit was amazing. Now it's basically inedible. Such a shame.

ha, same, for awhile I was watching YouTube'rs with their fast food channels almost every day.

Report of the Week was my favorite, just for the juxtaposition. Dude's wears a suit, has fancy table-cloths, hair slicked back like Gordon Gecko, supre articulate... then chows down a McDouble or the Cheeze-It Pizza Pocket, gives eloquent analysis. Fantastic.

Internationally, however, my favorite rabbit hole is looking up Japan KFC on Christmas. You gotta like pre-order this shit months in advance, KFC on Christmas is apparently quintessential Japanese tradition for some time now.

In Ohio we have Cincinnati Chili which is really not chili it is a chili sauce--lol--made with ginger and cinnamon. You put it on hot dogs with shredded cheese, or on spaghetti. Yum.

Denny's is overrated. Grand Slam Breakfast is the shit. Golden Corral buffet, now that is some wonderful chow. Better than those lousy Vegas ones.
