Anybody has Farrells or Bob's Big Boy where you live?????
Farrells went out of business, I last had that at the local fair a few years ago. Bob's only have 5 locations total, supposedly one is in TJ. They're like Pioneer Chicken, which I 😍 back in HS.
How times have changed.

Farrells went out of business I thought Blockbuster videos was out of business too but turns out there still is one open in some place in Oregon, I was hoping there was still at least one Farrells out there somewhere. [Edited 9/23/21 17:25pm] |

OH WOW!!!
I'mmakin' that DIY on Sunday
The use of sourdough bread is what makes it so revolutionary, it brings that trademark ham/swiss tang to the next level. I think they pan sear with lots of butter on the bread like a grilled cheese.
The order of ingredients itself is marvelous; swiss of course goes best with ham, but cheddar goes best with eggs, so the cheese's are segregated to each end of the sourdough while the quintessential combination of eggs/ham finds common ground to bind all the different flavors together. |

Maybe not drive-thru fast food, but you'd be at that plate lickity split at prime dinner rush when you'd be maybe 3rd or 4th in line at the other joints.
Luby's.
Found out these still existed during the panda-emic. Sworn they closed up in the mid-90s, but just left the region... Dunno if they went bankrupt or not, anyone have one? Worthy of the cross-state drive.

My stepbrother once came pretty close to duplicating the taste. He used concentrated frozen orange juice for that rich orange flavor.
Man, it's been a minute since I've had an Orange Julius.

Yeah, they're in the same small food court store up here. It's a DQ and OJ together. And the DQ doesn't have a wide menu. Dessert items, maybe a hot dog (that is microwaved).

Been wanting to give it a shot since former World Heavyweight Champion Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner bought a franchise that sadly folded last year.

That´s too bad. I really liked some of their hamburgers a lot . When I first went to a DQ and saw that they had burgers I was quite surprised because I thought that ice cream and cakes were their only product but I was pleasantly surprised. This was in North Minneapolis in the early 90s and the DQ was quite big and had a great choice of foods.
I wonder why they had to downsize. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?" |

In an orange juice drink? Seriously? Doesn´t that turn into something flaky and curd-like ?

Is that mac n cheese in the upper right corner or cold noodle salad with mayo? This meal looks delicious. But with all those noodles , rice and sweet potatoes it´s very carb heavy and it would make me fall to sleep right after eating.

They still got the OG drive-thru full-menu "Fan Food" DQ's in WA. They seem pretty popular, always people in line... Contrast it with Carls Jr.,,
It's messed up how the mall spots all got hybridized with Orange Julius but the drive-thru DQs were not. Do they hate money? People wouldn't drive-thru specifically for an Orange Julius?

Same(ish). Honestly one of the best childhood burgers... yet tried only once... maybe because it's more of an ice cream pavlovian conditioning? Dunno.
Anyway they add-in Orange Julius to the drive-thrus and that's a game changer... complete horse of a different color. All bets will be off.

Like potatto salad.
https://en.wikipedia.org/...roni_salad
Mayo's good and all, essential on sandwiches sure, but those mayo salads separate the mayo-men from the mayo-boys. |
