Congrats, Penny.
Last night the NFL won -- it got a competitive, exciting Super Bowl that went down to the final minutes. One of football's all-time great coaches got validation and a new superstar was crowned.
I said at the beginning of the 2018 season that Mahomes would be the key to that season. He was one offsides call from getting to the Super Bowl last year and he won it this year.
He's also the third black QB to win the Lombardi Trophy. That wasn't the lead story, and that's progress.
Forget that - he was the FIRST quarterback from a Texas college to win a SuperBowl?!? I had no idea!

Great game!! Congrats Penny!! I was rooting for Kansas City too. Half-time show was entertaining, I thought Shakira was a better performer than JLo...but they tried to fit too much in making it feel a bit chaotic. Prince will remain #1 for another year! |

Congratulations to the KC Chiefs. They pulled it off.
I thought SF defense would have been the difference in this game and
they were until the final 6 minutes and they just fell apart.
Damien Williams was a beast. He finally looked like the RB you saw last
season before his knee injury. Could have been MVP of this game as well.
KC deserves to party
I think it was pretty much even for the first half. 49er's took over in the 3rd and most of the 4th. KC played strong the last 6 minutes. Honestly I think the Steelers defense played better than the 49er's. Steelers problem was the offensive (Rudoplh and Hodges having 4 ints games and Conner always injured) kept digging the team in a hole that even the defense couldn't get them out of.

Hey Batman I'm among the biggest Steelers fans just like you but going back to week 3 of the
NFL season when both teams were trying to figure out who they were is irrelevant to yesterday's
game. The 49ers body of work over the whole season trumps the Steelers body of work over
the season. The Steelers defense was special this season but even it needs work. We can talk about repairing the Steelers broken(Roethlisbergerless) offense later. The Chiefs were simply better in crunch time the last 6 minutes of the game and the 49ers got away from what they did all season which is run the ball down the opposition's throat. They put it in Garopollo's hand a little too much towards the last 8 minutes or so of the game. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint |

Worried KC will be a dynasty. Pray 4 Bengals.
4th quarter always key because you have a tired D. Mahomes kept drilling. Andy Reid bad mofo.
Hope no violence in KC.
Fortunatley it hasn't been that bad. A stabbing and some shootings, but that's an every day thing here.
Parade on Wednesday. Local schools are taking the day off. 1 million expected at the parade..
I can't go, have to work. Roads will be gridlocked.

Even though I'm not really a Patrick Mahomes fan(for personal reasons), i congratulate the city of Kansas City, and the Chiefs. My Niners almost did it, but almost is not good enough. I look at it on the bright side though. At the beginning of the season, who expected the Niners to end up being the team that they became? I know i didn't. So every thing that came later was gravy. And that includes the super bowl.
I'm sure the pain of this loss(not only the loss, but knowing that they blew it in the last few minutes of the game) is going to make the Niners even more hungry. So I'm excited for the 2020 season. Rest in Peace Bettie Boo. See u soon. |

How in the world could you possibly have something against Mahomes?
He the most humble, polite, down to earth, young man.

Tell that to black Americans. Or historians in general. Or Kansas City.

Yup you and me are the biggest Steelers fans here. Maybe I'm bias but I still think the Steelers defense was better because it was them who almost got the Steelers into the playoffs. Bud Dupree and Watt were the best combo in the NFL. Cam always good and Mika is the best CB Steelers have had since Woodson. If Ben was healthy Steelers would have won at least 11 games, running game I'm think would still need improvement. |

This is the SECOND Super Bowl Shanahan fucked up. KC was dead....Mahomes wasn't playing well, and they had no answer for SF's ground attack. Shannon Sharpe said it was the same zone-block-running scheme Kyle's dad used in Denver with TD. Chiefs were getting gashed....so why put the ball in Jimmy G's hands when you didn't have to? Keep going with it until they stop it! And playing it safe just before the half (when Shanahan had timeouts) made no sense either. Sometimes these coaches get too cute and outsmart themselves (a la Pete Carroll). |
