I think he had to do it. The NBA wants this series to go to Game 7. Millions and millions of dollars are at stake. Plus, after they had pressured Durant to play, causing him to tear/rupture his Achilles tendon, they didn't want his personal sacrifice to be in vain. It is a devastating loss for Toronto. We played a terrible 2nd quarter and just couldn't finish them off even with KD out. I remain positive. Bring on game 6! I'm also very proud of how the Toronto fans reacted when KD left the game. We are a classy bunch!

The bookie I watched the game with wondered aloud if the fix was in. I don't believe in that BS but I can see how some might.

GS has not embraced KD fully as one of their own and all but said they played better after he got hurt. When TOR knocked them around for 4 games they begged KD to save them. If recent history is any indication he probably sacrificed his prime to bail them out.

On the last play, Kawhi had a chance to split the double-team, because it came late. He should have been the one taking the last shot, no one else.

If Toronto blows this, it will haunt that city and team forever. Ibaka probably said to himself, it's deja-vu all over again.

The game statred out with an 11-2 run by the Raptors that was singlehandely sparked by Kyle Lowry, who hit his first four shots including three 3-pointers. The Warriors would rebound, however, and the game would take a frenetic pace that lasted throughout the entire game. The Warriors would take the lead with 1:27 remaining in the first quarter, and from that point on the game went back and forth with neither team being able to jump out to any double digit lead. Just as Klye Lowry gave the Raptors a shot of adrenaline early on, Klay Thompson did the same for the Golden State Warriors as the Raptors concentrated much of their defense on Stephen Curry. The Warriors used nearly their entire remaining roster in this game while the Raptors relied on their starting lineup and their key reserves in Serge Ibaka, Fred VanVleet, and Norman Powell to carry this game.

The game would turn with 2:22 remaining in the third quarter when Klay Thompson went in for a driving layup and was fouled by Danny Green in mid-air, causing him to land awkwardly and hyperextend his left knee. The Raptors took advantage in the fourth quarter, with Fred VanVleet scoring 14 of his 22 points in fourth quarter including four 3-pointers. the last of which he hit with 3:46 remaining that put Toronto up for good. The Warriors tried to come back, getting to within one point and forcing a turnover with 9.6 seconds remaining. But Stephen Curry's 3-point attempt missed, and there was a mad scramble for the renound by both sides that resulted in Draymond Green grabbing the ball on the floor and calling for a timeout with nine-trenths of a second remaining. The problem, though, was they had no more timeouts left, which resulted in a technical foul and possession for the Raptors. They closed out the game and the season with three free throws and celebrated their first NBA title ever. Kyle Lowry and Pascal Siakam each led the Raptors with 26 points with Siakam grabbing 10 rebounds and Lowry dishing out 10 assists. Unfortunately, I'm working today, but still trying to keep my eyes on anything related to our win last night. Thanks for your well wishes Rodeo. I can't even describe how amazing it feels. Yes, you are! The Houston Rockets would certainly have defeated the Warriors last year if not for Chris Paul's hamstring injury, but that's how it goes in sports. The Warrior were the 2017-18 NBA champions - hats off to them, and no dispute.

In 2015, the Warriors defeated a Cavs team without Kevin Love & Kyrie Irving.....in 1999, SAn Antonio beat a Knicks squad without their best player.....in 1989, Detroit swept a banged-up Lakers team....I could go on and on. Should we put an asterisk next to those titles? Please...you play with what you have.
