Toronto blew a golden opportunity to put Golden State in a big hole. It was like they couldn't handle success....they missed so many wide open Js, and committed stupid fouls. Once the Warriors got it down to five at the half, I knew it was just a matter of time.

The NBA Finals

Game 3

TOR-2018.pngToronto Raptors 123 5BLbmOPf1LnAcRB7gyanVpsILaEG06PQDATi-CLqpKe4u-PCM2MUy66J5ynwS_Fhnfw=w300Golden State Warriors 109

The Golden State Warriors used an explosive third quarter in game 2 to win the game and even up this series, but it may have been a costly victory, as Klay Thompson strained his hamstring and Kevon Looney suffered a chest injury which will sideline him for the remainder of the NBA Finals. It was a gametime decision, but Klay Thompson was scratched for this game. and without Kevin Durant the Warriors found themselves with a depleted lineup. This gave the Toronto Raptors a golden opportunity to take advantage to regain the home court they lost in Game 2.

Aside from a 2-2 tie very early on in this game, Toronto led nearly the entire game. They knew Stephen Curry would be hard to contain, and sure enough he had an absolutely monstrous game, scoring a postseason career-high 47 points, grabbing eight rebounds, and dishing out seven assists. But the Raptors played a balanced attack on both sides of the court, with six players scoring in double digits while also forcing 14 turnovers on defense. The Warriors would close within four points before halftime, but the Raptors would hit some key shots, force a turnover, or block some shots to keep the lead. The Raptors jumped out to a 16 point lead in the third quarter, and while the Warriors would close the deficit to seven a few times, they could not get any closer. Kawhi Leonard led the Raptors with 30 points, seven rebounds, six asissts, two steals, and two blocked shots, but Kyle Lowry had a monster game, scoring 23 points and dishing out nine assists. Pascal Siakam and Danny Green each scored 18 points, with Siakam adding nine rebounds and six assists while Green made all of his points from behind the 3-point line. Marc Gasol added 17 points and seven rebounds while Fred VanVleet added 11 points off the bench. Serge Ibaka scored six points but was a monster on defense, blocking six shots and making two steals.

Stephen Curry had a game for the ages, but it didn't translate to his supporting cast. Draymond Green was held in check with 17 points and seven rebounds while Andre Iguodala was held to just 11 points. DeMarcus Cousins struggled in this game and was even replaced by Andrew Bogut. The question now is whether Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant will be healthy enough to suit up for game 4.

Toronto leads series 2-1.

The Raps played very well last. Held off GS beautifully and Serge Ibaka was brilliant. We needed to take full advantage of their injuries last night and we did just that! Go Raptors!!

They have to play hard for 48 mins and never give up or slow down. And, they have to make their shots and no one can fowl out. Their confidence is through the roof, so they just have to keep that going.

We got the Danny Green Game(TM) last night.

TOR is leading 2-1, and I think that's with Kawhi not being at 100% or at peak efficiency.

We see how thin GS is, even with 3 All-Stars and a Finals MVP on the floor last night.

Still . . . if Klay comes back in decent health I could see the Warriors closing this out in 6.

And if KD and Klay come back GS will finish this in 6.

I have a lot of respect for how TOR plays, and I pulled for them last night, but I'll believe they beat this Warriors team 4 of 7 when I see it.

Toronto better wrap this up within the next two games. Don't give GS time to get healthy.

Lowry showed great restraint not going Ron Artest on that fool. He had every right to.

Oh for sure. I'm so glad he kept his cool and his team mates pulled him away. If it was Ibaka, he would've punched the guy in the face. The NBA did the right thing by fining and banning him. I heard this morning that he also had some foul words for Lowry as well, so he got what he deserved. These next few games are going to be extremely intense, but I'm ready! Bring them on!!

Mark Stevens should be made to sell his interest in the Warriors, and banned from all NBA arenas for the rest of his life.

The NBA Finals

Game 4

TOR-2018.pngToronto Raptors 105 5BLbmOPf1LnAcRB7gyanVpsILaEG06PQDATi-CLqpKe4u-PCM2MUy66J5ynwS_Fhnfw=w300Golden State Warriors 92

The Toronto Raptors were able to take advantage of a depleted Golden State Warriors squad to take game 3 of this series, but they knew they had to stay focused if they expected to win this game and take a commanding lead back home to Canada. In the meantime the Golden State Warriors got some good news with the return of Klay Thompson to the starting lineup. In addition, Kevon Looney, who suffered a fracture in his upper chest and was expected to miss the rest of this series, got a second opinion, and he was cleared by doctors to play in this game. However, Kevin Durant still was not able to suit up for the Warriors.

The game began with both teams struggling to hit shots. But the Warriors were able to build a little momentum and build an 11 point lead late in the first quarter thanks to Klay Thompson. But they couldn't shake off the Raptors, who managed to hang around even though it appeared Goidlen State was about to explode on another one of their patented runs. The Warriors went into halftime leading by just four points.

This time around it was Toronto that went on a third quarter explosion, thanks primarily to Kawhi Leonard and Serge Ibaka. Kawhi hit numerous shots and helped the Raptors jump to a 13 point lead in the third quarter, and they would later extend that lead to 16 points early in the fourth quarter. The Warriors would cut the deficit to nine points a couple of times, but the Raptors defense would not allow them to get any further. Stephen Curry struggled from the field, finishing with 27 points on 9 for 22 shooting from the floor, and the Warriors also struggled from the free throw line, shooting just 14 for 21 while the Raptors were nearly perfect, hitting 23 of 24 shots from the charity stripe. Kawhi Leonard led all scorers with 36 points while also grabbing seven rebounds and making four steals. Serge Ibaka scored 20 points off the bench while Pascal Siakam added 19 points and five rebounds. Kyle Lowry added 10 points and seven assists. However, Fred VanVleet had a tough game, scoring just eight points but also taking a hard hit after Shawn Livingston inadvertently landed an elbow in his face after being fouled by Serge Ibaka. He did get stitches and was ready to return to the game if needed, but the Raptors were able to take care of business.

Klay Thompson led the Warriors with 28 points. However, the supporting cast struggled to make shots, as Draymond Green was held to just 10 points, though he did dish out 12 assists and grabbed nine rebounds. Kevon Looney scored 10 points in limited action, but Andre Iguodala scored just three points while DeMarcus Cousins was held to just six points and was pulled from the lineup in the second half. The Warriors now find themselves on the brink of elimination and the possible end of a dynasty, and it may not matter if Kevin Durant returns to the lineup or not.

Toronto leads series 3-1.

1 more game to go!! Ibaka was amazing last night. I was worried after the first half, but they really pulled it together in the second half. Poor Fred VanVleet, stitches in the face and a missing tooth. It was so great seeing all the Canadian fans in the Oracle too. Monday night is going to be out of this world. Go Raptors!!

Funny.....Serge Ibaka was on the OKC team that had a 3-1 lead on Golden State in the 2016 conference finals and choked the series away. Raptors MUST treat Monday night like a Game 7,

yeah but I think they wanted to their own awards show to provide more of a celebration of the award than just press releases and a daytime MVP presser during the playoffs.

The NFL has gone to this, presenting all their big awards at a show before the Super Bowl.

College football has a similar show for player of the year and coach of the year honors, etc. before the playoff.

It will now....Raptors hurt themselves with bad defense (can't give the Slash Bros. wide open looks like that) and a critical turnover by Lowry down the stretch. And I loved every minute of it!

I can't wait to see Drake cry like a bitch when the Warriors wrap this up Sunday night in HIS house.

Stephen A. brought up an excellent point....Raptors were up by six and had all the momentum. Warriors were gassed and ready to be had, yet Nick Nurse calls a timeout???? Why?? That slowed the game down and allowed GS to collect themselves.

The NBA Finals

Game 5

5BLbmOPf1LnAcRB7gyanVpsILaEG06PQDATi-CLqpKe4u-PCM2MUy66J5ynwS_Fhnfw=w300Golden State Warriors 106 TOR-2018.pngToronto Raptors 105

The Toronto Raptors were on the verge of winning their first NBA title in their franchise history, and it appeared that all of Canada was waitig to exhale and celebrate an NBA title. In the meantime, the Golden State Warriors were in desperation mode, and they pushed the panic button and brought Kevin Durant back from the injured list to start in this game.

From the beginning, Kevin Durant gave the Warriors an instant boost. Durant's presence allowed Stephen Curry to get open shots, including a couple of driving layups and a 3-pointer. Durant even got in on the action himself, hitting his first two shots from behind the 3-point line. The Raptors managed to hang around early, but Golden State would jump out to a 12 point lead. Then disaster struck again for the Warriors as Kevin Durant reaggravated his calf injury and had to be assisted off the court once again. He was later seen walking out of the arena in a walking boot and crutches and is likely out for the remainder of the NBA Finals.

With Durant going down, Golden State appeared to lose their mojo, as they once again forced bad shots, turned the ball over numerous times, and played shaky defense, allowing the Raptors to pull within six points at the half.

But the Warriors would play like their namesake. jumping back out to an 11 point lead in the third quarter thanks to Klay Thompson and Andre Iguodala, who both hit some key 3-pointers. Yet the Raptors would go on a run of their own, sparked by Fred VanVleet who hit three straight 3-pointers, and by Serge Ibaka who made shots in the paint. And then Kawhi Leonard went and scored 10 consecutive points for Toronto to put them up by six points with three and a half minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, putting the fans into a frenzy and anticpating seeing their beloved team holding the Larry O'Brien trophy.

However, the Warriors showed their championship mettle. Once again, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson would bring Golden State back, hitting three straight 3-pointers to put them up by three with 57.6 seconds remaining. Kyle Lowry would make a driving layup to bring the Raptors within one with 29.9 seconds remaining in the game, and DeMarcus Cousins would be called for basket interference with 15.7 seconds remaining. The Raptors had a chance to win it all at the end, but the Wrriors double teamed Kawhi Leonard and forced him to pass the ball to Fred VanVleet who then passed to an open Kyle Lowry in the corner to make a desperation 3-pointer, but the shot was missed, and the Warriors hung on for a massive victory. Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 31 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists despite shooting just 10 for 23 from the floor while Klay Thompson scored 26 points and grabbed six rebounds. DeMarcus Cousins scored 14 points while Draymond Green scored 10 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out eight assists. Kevin Durant scored 11 points before reinjuring himself in the second quarter.

Kawhi Leonard led the Raptors with 26 points, 12 rebounds and six assists. Kyle Lowry scored 18 points and dished out six assists while Marc Gasol scored 17 points and dished out eight assists and Serge Ibaka scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds. Pascal Siakam added 12 points while Fred VanVleet added 11 points off the bench. But the Raptors knew they let a championship slip through their fingers tonight. They're hoping this isn't a bad omen.

Toronto leads series 3-2.

The Warriors General Manager needs to GTFOH with those crocodile tears. They should have never cleared Kevin Durant to play in this game. They dogged Kawhi Leonard for not playing before his body was healed in San Antonio, but he is to be admired for standing his ground. Durant should not have listened to all the talking heads (like Steven A. Smith) gassing him up to play. And, even if he wanted to play, the Warriors organization should have not allowed it. Now, they are all ashen faced and "praying for him." It is disgraceful.
