Sold my physical collection long ago to support myself. So, my music is stored automatically in my laptop/phone smile

I know where you're coming from. I also had to sell part of my collection when I was short on cash. But some of my records I would never sell. I'd rather live on bread and water than sell my Prince or Bob Dylan albums!

I hope you never lose your laptop...

All you guys and gals with hundreds of CD's, album's cassettes ect how do you store them? All in alphabetical order? By genre? By who you listen to the most? No order? Maybe by decades? Or maybe you have certain groups together. Maybe Motown here and Soundtrack albums there? If it's by alphabet order, is Funkadelic and Parliament together or separate under "F" and "P" Is Prince and all of his associates together? How is it.

Most of my collection has been digitized, ~ 4,000 albums... give or more not less. smile

I built a database, based upon...

Artist / Record Label, and Genre: For example.

Artist: Aretha Franklin

Record Labell: Ms. Franklin 1st album / JV/Battle ;

Franklin/ Columbia years;

Franklin / Atlantic Years:

Genre: Gospel, R&B, & Soul

I also have sub -databases: If I wanted to hear nothing but Franklin Gospel albums I can pull all her Gospel Albums. I can pull all her number one records.

Lol as much as I wanted to keep my Prince' records at least, it wasn't about me at the time, so everything had to go smile And thanks, I hope I don't lose my laptop too haha...

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
