I used to love it but it's on ALL THE TIME. It's got to the point now that I'm sick of it. The theme song (which I always hated) makes me wish I was deaf and Phoebe is possibly the most annoying character ever to appear in anything.

Didn't you say that you liked Jar Jar Binks???? confuse

LOL. I did. Though to clear things up, it's more a case of me not disliking him than actively liking him. But I'd take a million Jar Jars over Phoebe any day.

Anyway, he is my list in no specific order:

The Honeymooners

Gunsmoke

All In The Family

Happy Days

Good Times

The Jeffersons

One Day At A Time

The A*Team

The Dukes Of Hazards

Knight Rider

Diff'rent Stokes

The Facts Of Life

The Cosby Show

Family Ties

227

The Golden Girls

Amen

Hunter

Married With Children

New York Undercover

Living Single

Law & Order

Law & Order SVU

Umm, Gunsmoke isn't considered to be a sitcom, and New York Undercover isn't one either; they're both dramas. And so are The A*Team, Knight Rider and Hunter, thiough they both had their comic moments. And none of the Law & Order franchise are sitcoms.

The Dukes of Hazzard could be listed as a comedy, as it was a loose knockoff of the Smokey & the Bandit movies.

Couldn't get into those shows. A different world went down hill after season 1. Amen, 227 and In Living Color were better.

British comedies.

W1A is one I've watched recently that I like but I wouldn't rank it as best sitcom. I do have to give it all my attention between the accents and the double talk I'd hardly know what the heck was going on if I was giving it half my attention, but it's the double talk that makes it amusing to me.

I can't find the name of the other one I just watched, it just seemed to have disappeared, but it's with these colleage students from different backgrounds living in a house together, one of which nobody has ever seen. I watched the entire 1st season and enjoyed it but kind of missed the name of it.

I dig it. Different things appeal to different people. I must admit the show that probably made me laugh the hardest was Carol Burnett. She was as funny as it gets.

I must give an honourable mention to Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em. Michael Crawford is a tour de force as Frank Spencer. In literally every episode there's at least 2 or 3 moments where I'm laughing so much that I can't breathe.

Yes, yes, yes!! That was a funny show. Haven't seen it in years, but it's a classic.

I really loved All in the Family, MASH and Seinfeld.

95% of sitcoms are utter shit, always have been - especially network shows (with a very small selection of exceptions - like Everybody Hates Chris, Golden Girls, Arrested Delevopment and a few others).

The better shows are on cable or non-American:

These are the top 3 shows, imo.

3.

2.

1. This show beats every other show - hands down.

One of the greats of all-time, undoubtedly, but was it a situation comedy? I don't think so, I think it was a variety/sketch show.

The Carol Burnett Show was not a sitcom. It was a variety show.

Not that I recall.

Mama's Family, featuring Carol Burnett Show regular Vicki Lawrence as "Mama" Thelma, was a sit-com spin-off from the Carol Burnett Show. Although Carol wasn't a regular on the sit-com she reprised her role as Eunice from time to time.
