I actually watched fathead again last night just to refresh my memory. He didn't just downplay saturated fat risks, he spent most of the second half of the film attacking the heart disease/sat fat link. Interesting though, and some initial browsing this morning brought up a good number of studies that seem to support what he said. Never hurts to have your assumptions tested.

Completely unrelated...I have to show off what I bought last weekend: boxed

what is that! Is it a gel they can burrow through? eek it looks totally cool!!!

I could hear you breathing smile

nod Yes, it's coming around, fat is good and carbs are bad.

I'm going to watch an upcoming series on our TV here: maybe you can see the trailer?

http://www.abc.net.au/catalyst/

it's a 2 part series called "The Heart of the Matter: Does high cholesterol really increase your risk of heart attacks?"

this one I watched the other day

http://www.abc.net.au/cat...821440.htm

my 13 year old watched it with me, he is very competitive and swore off sugar after watching this, because he wants to live the LONGEST lol

I'm the mistake you wanna make

Gravity 0 stars out of 5. It was just a propaganda movie designed to make everyone think America is Awesome again. The physics of it were totally impossible.

Wait, what? A propaganda movie?

See the Gravity thread.

That is a gel – not only does it provide a medium for the kids to burrow through, but it also provides them with food & water. The gel farms seem to be slightly looked down upon by ant snobs, but I really like them. They’re terrible for my work productivity though…I just want to sit and stare at my ants all day. lol

I think that wheezing sound in the background may have been the duplex unit on our printer (it’s right outside my office). If that was my breathing, I’m completely mortified, because that means I sound like an 80 year old with emphysema. I did a 25K hike yesterday without taking a break or breaking a sweat, so I hope I sound a little healthier than that.

It looks like I can view the program archives from here, so I’ll keep an eye open for that episode when it gets added. Thanks for the heads-up.

Gravity – 4/5 I don’t make it out to a lot of movies & I’m not an authority on such matters, but this felt like a huge leap forward in terms of immersing the viewer. I could have done without some of the personal aspects of the story & that takes it down a notch for me (and I would be interested in seeing how the film would play if the score was toned down or completely eradicated), but still completely worth experiencing IMO.

I gave it 3 stars only because the music was great! I'm not a big Metallica fan (nor Heavy Metal for that matter)...but I gained a real appreciation for the energy that they bring to the stage after attending both Orion festivals.

The movie is half rock concert, half "story". Almost like Sign of the Times, but angry. lol
And much like SOTT, the story was mostly a senseless background for the music.

Anyone who doesn't like Metallica (or Heavy Metal) isn't going to like this at all.

Russian Ark (2002) - A 19th century French aristocrat, notorious for his scathing memoirs about life in Russia, travels through the Russian State Hermitage Museum and encounters historical figures from the last 200+ years.

The big deal about this movie is that it was shot all in one take. It started slow, but that final ballroom scene was truly spectacular. star star star star

wasn't it awesome! I loved it, I think I get a bang out of getting a little history for my buck, and the art. plus knowing everybody was very tight on their job to get all this one take. impressive.

I really liked it once it moved away from the paintings and focused on actual live people. 867 actors used!

Gravity (2013) - A medical engineer and an astronaut work together to survive after an accident leaves them adrift in space.

The story was nothing groundbreaking, but it looked incredible. I give the IMAX 3D version a perfect rating. star star star star star
