I am absolutely afraid of dying before my mother does. Only because I don't want her to witness any of her children dying first.

Other than that, I'm only afraid of the conditions under which I will die, and how much lucidity or control I will have during the process. I am scared of being born again as a woman, especially in an islamic society, as a mormon, or skinny hot blonde in the US.

The idea that my late husband will have only been 10 percent (a dime) of my life if I live to 80 pisses me off. I'd rather him a Kennedy or at least a quarter be mine. The longer I live, the less spare change. The more I forget.

.

I welcome death. I live for the children only. I would never do that to them (die on purpose).

.

I have these hubby dreams, so I told my children, before they wake me, be kind and check my eyes. Look for that rapid movement. Don't make me say goodbye.

.

I'd rather die than say goodbye.

I don’t worry about being dead. As they say, I didn’t mind not being alive before I was born, so I don’t expect I’ll mind not being alive once I’m dead. I definitely do worry about how things will be for me near the end. I worry about being old and broke, or old and feeble with no one to take care of me, or old and demented. Those are all concerns, and I try to do things to minimize risk, control the things I can control, but of course there’s only so much you can do, and I try not to spend a lot of time worrying about things I can’t control.

I was randomly assaulted a few years ago and was cut in a way that made me bleed pretty heavily. It turned out to be not terribly serious, but I had a few moments where I thought I might be in severe, potentially mortal trouble, and during that time I actually felt quite calm and accepting of whatever was about to happen. I found that a little surprising, and maybe a little comforting.

Not afraid of death. The process of dying doesn't much strike me as fun, though.

Of course I'm scared of pain and suffering but death itself doesn't scare me. I won't know any different once I'm gone, nothing to be scared of in that.

And I'm happy with the life I've lead. Of course there are plenty more things I want to do but I've no regrets I haven't rectified.

At this point in my life, I'm not really "afraid" of death.

I'm saddenned by the thought of my existence on this world comning to an end.

I also hope & pray that my death comes at a later stage in life, once my young children are older, settled in their lives, and ready to face the world without me.

sigh

Now I need a hug.

I feel the same way. Sure, I've had regrets, and if I had it to do over, would do some things differently, but death itself doesn't scare me. I just don't want to die painfully or in terror.
