Spring break/Freaknik memories Today is the first official day of spring, yet you would not know that where I am, as the termperature is in the low 20's and is expected to drop in the single digits. In fact, the temperature is not expected to rise above 40 degrees for the next week.
All of this cold weather has made me restless for warmer weather, and it has brought back memories of my spring break excursions in college. Back then, Daytona Beach was one of the two big places to go in the USA along with South Padre Island, and I hopped on the bus to Daytona for a week of fun, sun, booze, and babes.
Now I'm not sure what the hostpot is these days. I think muh of the spring break scene has gone to the Caribbean, particularly Cancun and Jamaica, but there are still parties in Daytona Beach, Panama City, South Padre Island, and Lake Havasu, but a lot of people now just head to Las Vegas or Miami for spring break these days, since they already have established nightlife.
What do you think about spring break?

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

(UK) club 18-30 anyone? my memories are a bit patchy.. there was lots of drinks & clubbing involved, usually a lot of snogging, skinny dips, booze cruise, black banana rides & rude party games. i don't remember any drugs back then, nobody got their drink spiked.
i met a very gorgeous greek lad in malia, i abandoned the cheap hotel to stay at his place in the mountains, lots of sex & ouzo kept us going, we barely got out of bed, i must have been walking like john wayne by the end of the week kavos & bodrum were other memorable locations, we never took much money, those were the days b4 the euro & you could survive on next to nothing. i did run out of money once & ironed shirts for cash. & always managed to get through 200 duty free cigs. my daughter's first holiday with friends this year, she's off to kavos. i'm trying not to panic

I never went on a typical spring break vacation. Generally not my kinda thing.
That said, I did plenty of excessive things in my 20's, clubbing and craziness and so on, I just didn't need a beach vacation as an excuse to do it.

I went to Cancun, Destin Florida, Ft. Lauderdale, and one other place I can't remember now.
That last one must have been the best one, LOL.

My definition of a social nightmare is that kind of setting. It's the epitome of obnoxious stupidity.
Even when I went clubbing I stayed as far away from this kind of crowd as possible.
I did get a good laugh when these types of douchebags approached me, though.

Were you staying in Kos back then? " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Co-sign. And thank you, I thought I was the only one who feels that way. I don´t mind clubbing, partying and going out but those douchebags are something else. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

you all realize a big movie event might just hit right now that exploits this? Fresh from the festivals...
