Spring break/Freaknik memories

Today is the first official day of spring, yet you would not know that where I am, as the termperature is in the low 20's and is expected to drop in the single digits. In fact, the temperature is not expected to rise above 40 degrees for the next week. sad sigh mad

All of this cold weather has made me restless for warmer weather, and it has brought back memories of my spring break excursions in college. Back then, Daytona Beach was one of the two big places to go in the USA along with South Padre Island, and I hopped on the bus to Daytona for a week of fun, sun, booze, and babes. sun beer sexy drool Of course, at that time, MTV was still playing music videos, so they would set up their special week of programming down there. While there were a few luxury hotels down on "the strip", most of the hotels and motels were pretty much no frills dives, and I stayed in one of them. I stayed mostly with people from colleges in Ohio and Massachusetts, even though I was attending Northwestern University at the time, and while I did some things that these days I'm not exactly proud of shocked boxed drink lurking , I had a blast. Now a lot of people talk a lot of crap about students getting plastered and running around like a bunch of sluts and hoes, but I think everyone needs to experience this type of bacchanalian excess at least once in their lives. Now maybe you shouldn't brag too much about licking jello shots off of some girl's topless breasts omfg shocked , but then again I didn't have to worry about this type of activity being posted on Facebook, YouTube, or Instagram.

Now I'm not sure what the hostpot is these days. I think muh of the spring break scene has gone to the Caribbean, particularly Cancun and Jamaica, but there are still parties in Daytona Beach, Panama City, South Padre Island, and Lake Havasu, but a lot of people now just head to Las Vegas or Miami for spring break these days, since they already have established nightlife.

What do you think about spring break?

mad I didn't do any spring break activities. I was too busy working, paying for college, not partying it up. hmph!

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

(UK) club 18-30 anyone? lol back in the late 80's we'd go with this firm for a cheap deal, mainly to ibiza.

my memories are a bit patchy.. there was lots of drinks & clubbing involved, usually a lot of snogging, skinny dips, booze cruise, black banana rides & rude party games. i don't remember any drugs back then, nobody got their drink spiked.

i met a very gorgeous greek lad in malia, i abandoned the cheap hotel to stay at his place in the mountains, lots of sex & ouzo kept us going, we barely got out of bed, i must have been walking like john wayne by the end of the week

kavos & bodrum were other memorable locations,

we never took much money, those were the days b4 the euro & you could survive on next to nothing. i did run out of money once & ironed shirts for cash.

& always managed to get through 200 duty free cigs.

my daughter's first holiday with friends this year, she's off to kavos. i'm trying not to panic

I never went on a typical spring break vacation. Generally not my kinda thing.

That said, I did plenty of excessive things in my 20's, clubbing and craziness and so on, I just didn't need a beach vacation as an excuse to do it. lol

I went to Cancun, Destin Florida, Ft. Lauderdale, and one other place I can't remember now.

That last one must have been the best one, LOL.

My definition of a social nightmare is that kind of setting. It's the epitome of obnoxious stupidity.

Even when I went clubbing I stayed as far away from this kind of crowd as possible.

I did get a good laugh when these types of douchebags approached me, though.

Co-sign. And thank you, I thought I was the only one who feels that way. I don´t mind clubbing, partying and going out but those douchebags are something else.
