OK, Computer Geeks: It's Raspberry Pi Time.

Raspberry Pi Model B 512MB RAM

New York Times

The Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized computer that plugs into your TV and a keyboard. It’s a capable little PC which can be used for many of the things that your desktop PC does, like spreadsheets, word-processing and games. It also plays high-definition video. We want to see it being used by kids all over the world to learn programming. (FAQ - raspberry.com)

The computers cost about $40.00 give or take. Plus these are the things you'll need to get you computer up and running. geek

HDMI Cable

Micro USB Power (Your Apple iPhone phone charger will work)

Raspberry Pi B Computer

4gb SD Card

Mini USB wirlesless adapter ( Ethernet cord optional if you go that route)

Stereo Audio Cord 3.5mm jack

USB Keyboard /Keyboard

RCA cable ( If you have an older model TV and/or computer monitor, though the graphic

look/work better with HDMI)

Plastic Houseing container for your Pi

Suggestion- I'd go with a higher gb SD card if you plan on runnning video, playing games, or making music. 8 to 16 gb will suffice.

More Info From: Engadget

I just ordered my Raspberry Pi over the week end, I'll do a video when I get it.

That's similar to the Dell USB PC that made a little bit of noise recently, right?

No, the Dell Ophlia well be a full-fledged cloud based PC.

The Raspberry Pi is a (full-fledged Linux box running Debian.) credit card PC that allows you to program... learn how to write code. Out of the box you'll be able to surf the web basic computing.

This little PC was meant for learning about how to right write code/programming, if you checkout the Engadget link I have in my first post, it will give you all the details.

Also iPad/iPod you can download, The MagPi (free) magazine (1 thru 8) that has a wealth of info about programming and the many uses for the Raspberry Pi PC. cool

We'll were too busy talking to people in the WebTV chatrooms to even care about writing codes. wink

That's the premise behind the Raspberry (as reported in the New York Times) you have young adults coming into college wanting to major in computer science and don't have the basics. Plug-n-play is all good but code/ computer programs run these electronic / computer devices. What I like is its Linux based and its perfect to introduce people to Linux Distros. I can't wait to I get mine, I going to try to see if I can run my blue-tooth /mouse via the Raspberry. Then I'll attempt to write a program to do something.
