Weird stuff you like...

I'm bored, so...

I really enjoy bathing in foreign showers! thumbs up! Friends' homes, hotel rooms, the office -- there's just something sooo luxurious about taking a shower somewhere other than my own bathroom. If you invite me over, I'm gonna take shower at your place. Consider yourself warned.

And you?

I guess it was a good decision to not come over to Vienna back then when you were in Austria because you probably would have been disappointed about my shower lol

I think ants are endlessly fascinating. I have several books on them. I usually have pictures of ants as my desktop image at work. I have a queen ant in my cupboard that I’m hoping will start a colony for me this year (she laid several eggs this summer, but she ate all of them). I also kept a little ant farm this year, and think I’ll start another one this coming spring. When I’m out walking in the summer I’ll stare down at the pavement looking for ants, and sometimes I’ll stop and observe hills for a while. Most people I know think that’s odd, but I’m allowed to be different, and I personally think there’s something pretty odd about not finding ants completely enthralling.

love

the reddish worker cylindricus ant has detonated — rupturing her body to release a toxic yellow glue that kills her and the enemy instantly.

I am the exact opposite. I love love love to travel and visit people but the most exciting thing about coming home (after my own bed) is my own bathroom. Boy howdy do I love that first shower once I'm finally home.

Incidentally, I moved in with my boyfriend about a month and a half ago and it still feels like I'm showering at his place, even though all of my stuff is there. I wonder when that's going to go away...

Seriously, when I pick up a book that's been on my shelf for years and decide to read it again I will often take a whiff of the paper up close in the crease while I'm reading it.

Sometimes several times in one sitting. redface

I love dressing up. I mean...I love it so much I could walk around looking like I stepped out of a 1930s movie all day, every day. It is one of the great disappointments of my life that I have no occasion to wear an evening gown. sad

And I love the formality with which people used to conduct their lives. When men held doors for women and, when a couple walked on a sidewalk, the man always made sure he was between the woman and the street. (My sweetie does this and I adore it.)

I also like it when children have been taught to address adults as Mr. or Mrs. So-and-so - or Sir and Ma'am - not by their first names.

I once teared up in the Macy's dresses section because there were so many beautiful evening gowns and even if I bought one I'd have nowhere and no occasion to wear it.

I've always had it in the back of my head that I should be a princess. Not because I want to be waited on and catered to but because I'd be able to dress up all the time and it woud be expected of me. And when I'm not wearing fancy clothes I can use my position to further causes important to me.

I do the same thing looking at the evening gown section of the Vogue pattern book. I have a pattern for a 1930s gown that I would kill to make and wear.

Sweetie always tells me I was born in the wrong time.

The smell of new shoes

The smell of a new car

The feel of an old book

The texture of stale graham crackers

The sound of a man moaning in pleasure

Yes, I know. Weird. Been doing it since 7 years old and still keeping it moving, baby.
