Japan

I am planning on visiting Tokyo, Japan next month. Now I am going to do my usual preparation and research like I do before any trip. But if anyone is familiar with Tokyo and has some tips to impart on me it will be greatly appreciated.

I have never been to Japan either, but I'm thinking of going at some point just to go shopping for music. I have bought so many records and CDs from Japanese sellers on eBay that the shipping over the years would probably add up to the price of a hotel and plane ticket. That vinyl...so quiet...so flat...beautiful.

The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

Japan is amazing - I've been 4 times and barely scratched the surface. I'd love to go back - and yes the vinyl and second hand record stores are awesome. If you have any inclination to check out the rest of the country, I'd recommend a rail pass. The JR Rail Pass you have to purchase prior to entering Japan. Some info here

When I go back to Japan - I want to go here

They made a documentary about him

Whatever you want to do, I'm sure you'll have a blast but it is definitely a place to research research research as much as you can before you go.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have heard of this film. I'll check it out.

I have another tip. Make sure you always carry a packet of 10 tissues. They sell them all over the place in Japan and I was kind of puzzled why until I had to use a public bathroom - and thankfully I had a packet of tissues because they don't have toilet paper in the public bathrooms. So after that I always made sure I had like 3 packets on me - y'know just in case lol
