interesting. informative. I really enjoyed watching this film and admired the faith some of the people had even under cruelity faced by the people within in there religion.

Lincoln (2012) - As the Civil War continues to rage, America's president struggles with continuing carnage on the battlefield and as he fights with many inside his own cabinet on the decision to emancipate the slaves.

It took me awhile to get my footing and figure out exactly what was going on beyond the basics. If I had done a little more research about the period, I could see myself giving this a perfect rating. For now though I give it 1/2

This is 'The Alchemist,' of film. Either you get it or you don't.

I saw a movie of me and a friend on Brazzers.

I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

The Good Doctor 3/5 Pretty good little movie, not great but interesting enough, I watched it twice. Though the trailer gives away a lot there are still a couple of unexpected twist. Ends kind of abruptly or maybe it was just my copy.

Lo imposible / The Impossible (2012) - An account of a family caught, with tens of thousands of strangers, in the mayhem of one of the worst natural catastrophes of our time.

Ugh, what a tearjerker. Even more so because it's a real story.

Warrior - 4/5 It deals in a few clichés (is there a sports movie that doesn’t?), and I'd say it has a story-line or two too many, but this had an emotional weight that really took me by surprise. Not perfect, but this gave me much, much more than I ever expected from a movie about MMA.

Naughty Nurses Part 12: Registered Nymphos (in 3-D): This movie was okay. Part 7 had more interesting Girl/Girl scenes and the guy who played Dr. Rockhard was not convincing as a practicing physician. I didn't see him sanitize his stethoscope after he stuck it in...wll I don't want to give the whole plot away. Anyway, the Captain enjoyed it overall.

Don't want to turn this into a p&r affair, but it will be a year for me next month since I gave up farmed meat (i do eat hunted meat). I was also pursuaded by greenhouse gas emmissions, water consumption, other environmental issues & the interests of the animals involved in factory farm practices. Peter Singer's "the Ethics of What We Eat" was very influential in my decision, and I really recommend that book to anyone interested in those issues.

Rubber 3/5 - the movie poster does not lie. This is the best film about a killer tire I've ever seen.

Every once in a while Hollyweird comes along with a romantic comedy in which the leads are not shiny, golden, living in perfect lofts with perfect careers with perfect families and perfect lives i which they are stewing with upper middle class angst because the gawd-damned American dream and all it's trappings we've all been told to aspire to turns out to be a crock of malarkey. Sometimes you get a movie where people are flawed... I mean really flawed; but like anyone else they too are aspiring towards their own dream of having it all, and you really find yourselves rooting for them because they are going for the heart of that which motivates every human being, straight, no chaser, no boardroom, hi-rise apartment, or $1000 shoes required: L.O.V.E.

I'll give this a 4/5 , and would reccommend it to anyone who's enjoyed non-traditional, anti-Shiny Happy People Holding Hands-romantic pairings in movies like "As Good As It Gets", "Punch Drunk Love", or "The Other Sister".

Basquiat (1996) -- A star turn by the great Jeffrey Wright, and subtle, potent peformances by Benicio Del Toro and Claire Florani. Packed a punch 2/3s through, lost considerable steam at the end.

3.25/5 stars.

The Queen of Versailles ?/5 I'm not sure what I'm suppose to think. All I kept thinking about is this the same guy that owns the Westgate malls. Are people suppose to feel sorry for them? I think they were part of the problem, they sold timeshares to people who more than likely couldn't afford it and probably lost their homes or savings or something behind it, so...yeah, I'm not sure what I'm suppose to think.

This is one of my all time favourite movies. Great story and Bette is awesome as always. I watched it again about 18 months ago. I love most of her films.

Serpico - 5 out of 5. Great movie. I hadn't seen it before. Al Pacino was HOT back in the day. The party scene is one of my favorites, if only cause of the dancing and fashions.

Crazy, Stupid Love - 3 out of 5. A cute movie with some laughable moments but the ending is pretty trite.

Zero Dark Thirty - 3 out of 5. I don't like Kathryn Bigelow. While I can say it was probably a well-made movie, it's just not my thing. Having a female CIA agent as the protaganist is probably the only way I could watch this story (and if it weren't nominated I wouldn't have bothered) but it wasn't enough to make me like it. Again, she just doesn't make movies I want to watch.

Argo - 5 out of 5. Loved it! Loved everyone in it. Loved the drama, loved the suspense, loved the laughs. I think it treated the material respectfully while still allowing a natural laugh or two along the way.

Iron Man - 3 out of 5. My bf wanted to watch this. Eh, it's a comic book movie with Robert Downey Jr, what's not to like?

Wreck-It Ralph (2012) - A video game villain wants to be a hero and sets out to fulfill his dream, but his quest brings havoc to the whole arcade where he lives.

It's a clever premise. It's a bit like Toy Story in that if there is a sequel, other classic and popular video games could make appearances like other toys did in Toy Story. 1/2

I really hate romantic comedies or pseudo-comedy-dramas. I can't deal with those comedic 'middle-class so-called angst' movies like This Is 40---I mean..damn...what do they have to be all pissed about? They have money..she has no body fat @ 40 after having kids...he's handsome...they work...

I thought about seeing this one but I am so NOT a fan of either of these actors.

I just watched Hemingway & Gellhorn...an HBO movie (Nicole Kidman was nominated for the GG). It was decent historically. I liked the way they interspersed the B&W and sepia footage of war with the rest of the movie. Didn't like Clive Owen's 'Hemingway' as much as Nicole's 'Gellhorn.' out of for cinemetography and Nicole.

This is like a hopped up version of that show on ABC--Primetime: What Would You Do? I watch this all the time to see just how people really react to racism, child endangerment, etc. It is a real eye-opener. Not sure I want to see this one.

Not a big Denzel fan either. But I liked this movie. Well, mostly I 'loved' Don Cheadle...and John Goodman was hilarious!!! I made the mistake of watching this right before leaving Charleston, SC to fly back to Seattle during bad weather and disembarking my flight because of a wheel malfunction. Needless to say I was nervous as hell and hoped the pilot was drunk.

I LOVE this movie!!!!!!!!!!! Love Robert and Brad...a perfect movie.

It's heartbreaking knowing how many similar incidents have happened all over the US. No is not a bad word.

Django Unchained (2012) - With the help of a German bounty hunter, a freed slave sets out to rescue his wife from a brutal Mississippi plantation owner.

Its strength is the performances by the actors, particularly Christoph Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson. The story was at times goofy, but ultimately very entertaining.

Crap batch of movies this time

Coriolanus -- I can see why this is one of the Bard's lesser-performed plays. Either that, or the screenwriters flubbed it. Nice tranlation into modern times, but uneven and abrupt in the final act. Ralph Fiennes, Gerard Butler (!) and Brian Cox give good performances, but Vanessa Redgrave outshines them all.
