Jian Feng claimed that his wife did not tell him about her plastic surgery before they married

A Chinese wife has been sued by her husband for giving birth to what he calls an 'incredibly ugly' child.

Jian Feng from northern China filed a suit against his wife and was awarded $120,000 (£75,000) in a court settlement.

Jian argued that his wife tricked him into the marriage by undergoing plastic surgery to make her beautiful. He said he realised this only when she gave birth to their daughter.

"I married my wife out of love, but as soon as we had our first daughter, we began having marital issues. Our daughter was incredibly ugly, to the point where it horrified me," Jian said.

The truth of the matter surfaced only when Jian went on to accuse his wife of cheating, as the child looked like neither of its parents.

At that point, the wife admitted to having undergone cosmetic surgery worth £62,000 which had modified her appearance considerably. Jian was not aware of the surgery before their marriage, his wife conceded.

Jian was also granted a divorce, saying the woman married him under false pretences.

I don't know how I feel about this. But I really do think that this does qualify as some of marriage fraud. She should have at least told him about her plastic surgery. Kind of like telling someone about any genetic medical history. I just don't think he should have sued her. Now his poor child must feel guilty, ugly and rejected.

Yeah i agree that she should have told the guy about the surgery. I'm sure she didn't think the child would come out "unattractive" though.

There's a picture of the child on the net. It's still an infant but from the picture i saw, the baby doesn't look all that odd. The picture of the child is kinda blurry but it looks like it has the same lips and mouth as the woman(pre Surgery). I wonder what the guy looks like.

Well, then folk should just marry what they consider ugly to err on the safe side.

Dude should follow through completely and set aside a proper amount of the settlement towards corrective surgery for his "incredibly ugly child" when they become of age.

ANNNNND I'd love to be able to go to (or afford) her surgeon. He does good work.

These issues are so of our times. lol

Very sad story. In many different ways for everybody involved.

What have looks to do with your genetic medical history? If she had an illness which could possibly effect her children too I see your point. But looks?

What's next? handing over the pictures of you as a kid to your future partner so he can approve of it?

I'm going to start suing some of these men when I get them undressed and find they have no pubic hair. They misled me to think they were a man.

I wonder how she had gotten so much money for the surgery (she's a Chinese woman, after all). She sounds like a golddigger that has been willing to go really far, at least judged from the scarce amount of information offered. But 62,000 pounds? How?

Yeah, makeup doesn't quite work like that.

If she in fact "tricked" him like that into marrying her, okay that could be grounds for divorce. But to "win" such a ridiculous amount of money when he hasn't suffered any true damage, except done so by insulting and damaging his daughter for life? Hell no, the girl should get ALL that money but even that would never "pay" for HER damages.
