Co-worker's weave causing drama on the job

So my coworker got a weave and ever since she has had it, she keeps going around CONSTANTLY hitting herself in the head or rubbing it and making these faces-my other coworker, who is stupid as hell, swears they are sex faces.

Should I or someone else gently pull her aside? Cause people are starting to talk about her and it's not looking good.

Her scalp must be itching a halluva lot, mines did when I tried one. I HATED wearing it, lasted for 3 days (sewn in) and I damn near ripped it out of my head, and it was only a partial weave in the back of my head for a bit of fullness.

shake Neva again!

Yeah, tell her if you think she can handle criticism, if she is bad at taking criticism, then say nothing, no matter how close you are to her. Just be that shoulder to cry on when crap hit the fan.

send her a card of "concern" and "care." or invite her to lunch and ask her if she's aware of how she is being perceived by others with all the "hitting herself in the head and rubbing."

or ask her if her hair stylist has made some errors in applying her weave.

I'll never get why women "hit their head" when their scalp is itching like hell. Looks retarded as fuck. Just take the shit out and wash your own damn hair until you can get back to the salon.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I got one back when I was in beauty school and I HATED it! I didn't even last three days! I ripped mine out of my head THE NEXT DAY! Terrible- so uncomfortabe- I don't know how people handle these things.

other than being too tight she could have some skin irritations. She could have an allergy. Or some other issue like dandruff that the weave is making worst. Depending on the source of the hair (I assume it is Synthetic or some animal) Or if any dyes or adhesives were used? or even a pre-treat may have been left on her scalp.

there are many things that can cause issues with the process.

Only is right

Really if she's picking out excellent quality.. ie ..human, remi..then she shouldn't be smacking he head. If her stylist isn't a great one, tht becomes a huge factor too. I wear them to give my natural hair a break.. and it really feels natural and weightless on my head. I use 100% human remi hair.. and my stylist is da bomb.

If y'all are working around food, hell yes, somebody should say something.

If you're friends, then pull her aside and recommend she get some of this:

If you're not friends then leave it alone.

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Why would your natural hair need a break? confuse

I imagine they hit instead of scratch so as not to screw up whatever binding technique secures their weave, right? Also, if they use relaxers frequently, wouldn't scratching cause the scalp to really burn during application?

A break from chemical services, relaxer, perm, color, excessive heat, etc.

Well this goes back to what another orger said earlier, it all depends on who your hair stylist is and if they are truly professional. There are a lot of perpretrating hair stylists out there that don't know what they are doing. For instance, I know some folks who go to stylists because they are cheaper in price...and the reason is because the stylist doesn't use effect professional hair products but rather hair products you can buy out of your local store (what I call home hair products, why in the hell would you pay a professional to use home hair care products on your hair is beyond me)...but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. I know someone who was severly burned from a relaxer because their shady stylist left it on for too long. A really good professional hair stylist won't over chemically treat your hair and are able to give you suggestions on what can be done (what services they can provide) that is healthier for your hair. Technically, relaxers shouldn't even touch your scalp in the first place.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

They hit their heads (aka pat the weave) because it's pretty much impossible to get underneath the braid the hair is attached to the scalp without something thin & sharp like the end of a cat tail comb or a bobby pin. Still...I've always felt that if my scalp is itching for any reason then it's simply time to get up and wash my hair. I don't have itching episodes, but I do know there are products for anyone out there (weave or no weave) that has that issue.

Also, I like head scratches as a relaxation technique: the only time to be wary of a good head scratch is right before you apply a perm (say, on the same day). Otherwise it's pretty much fine.

Unless you're front desk patting ur weave while dealing with a client or something that would come off as unprofessional I guess I just don't know why anyone would have to go out their way to make an issue of it. lol
