Long day, with no "eating right now" for me, morning started with whole wheat granola pancakes, but with chopped green apple instead of the banana & strawberry in the pic:

They didn't cook at church today mad , so no nibbles there, but hubby and I ditched the membership meeting after service to go to the Indian Summer food festival and have a little vino afterwards, sitting under the cafe umbrellas & enjoying these last rays of summer:

I had a standard Sangiovese red, I only needed one glass and I was good smile

then we came home and pan seared some (brined) turkey breast, made a side salad with spicy olives, feta, & red peppers, a little rice with shredded zucchini from Auntie's farm sauteed in a little olive oil, lemon zest, and chicken broth---and that's the eats around these parts smile

Had some Shrimp fried rice today and now I have heartburn. Urgh. Now I know why I stick to the egg whites, grapefruit juice, spinach and toast.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I can't believe she has a TV show now. I feel so proud even though I don't know her, LOL.

Life has been pretty eventful! Right now we're planning a move to Seattle. I'm so excited!

Is that why hubby is in Seattle now??? Get used to rain-'Cuz it rains a lot. Although, oddly, not so much in the last 50 days.

There has been discussion of a Seattle ORG invasion hosted by me. There isn't an official announcement yet. Trying to get more feedback on what everybody wants to do.

nod

He's out there staying with my brother now, interviewing for jobs. excited

I miss him like fucking crazy. sad

But I'm looking forward to Seattle more than I can even express. I'm from a vibrant, diverse, quirky, very international city (Cambridge, MA); I moved to the middle of soulless, featureless suburban Florida five years ago to be with Chris (JerseyKRS). I'm glad I did, of course, because I found my true love and completed my family. But this is no fucking place to live unless you're retired and never leave the house. Seattle is going to be perfect for us!

woot!

The Seattle area is a strong job market compared to most of the country. We have the corporate headquarters for Amazon, Starbucks,Weyerhaeuser, Microsoft, Nintendo, Nordstrom, and Costco.

Seattle is a fun city-it feels like a small town, but with some big city perks. Although traffic sucks. If you live north or south of downtown Seattle and you work in DT Seattle that would be a nightmare commute. Just try to live on the same side of town you work in, if possible.

And welcome to Seattle.

Trying to ease up on all the white breads and starches, so I made this recipe with hand cut parpadelle I made from spelt flour:

Pappardelle with Pancetta, Broccoli Rabe, and Pine Nuts

Parpadelle with pancetta, sundried tomatoes, broccoli & pine nuts. I thought it would be light somehow, yet I still ended up with "The Itis" dead

I used to freelance for them as junior stylist: they are so super glam jet set fab, yet humble, fun and down to earth people. I loved working with them so much at one time I even considered moving to Seattle my damned self (right before I decided to move to Europe to stay)! lol

I'm just sad that I didn't get a chance to get my cook night on with Punky before she left Florida (since I will likely visit the state in winter 2013) fit fit fit

If such things were possible! I tell you, The Other Half loves the hell out of some California; if we hit the lotto tomorrow if it were up to him I'm pretty sure we'd be there by week's end lol
