If you get one of those Franschetta pizzas you're good but anything else is just

a downgrade from places like Domino's and Pizza Hut. Sam's Club makes a pretty

good pizza too and you get a 16 inch for 8 to 10 bucks.

There's a Sam's right up the street from my apartment and it would be much more convenient for me to shop at rather than Kroger's but I've always heard from people that you only save money at Sam's if you buy in bulk. I don't have the money, nor the refrigerator space to buy in bulk. Do they have many good deals buying individually rather than bulk?

They are right Vain for the most part but pizza is one of those such things you

don't have to buy in bulk. Don't go to the frozen freezer section because they

do sell the DiGorno's 3 to a box. Just go to the meat section and the pizzas

are usually there if you want to take it home and cook it yourself or go to

the deli and let them cook it for you. Usually i go to Sam's just to buy Chicken

Apple Sausages or other specialty sausages to put on the grill, Accent, milk.

I occasionally may get broccoli or some fruit but yes if you aren't careful you

can blow out your wallet just buying 5 things.

Some of those in the deli department in Kroger's look decent but I don't have one of those big round pans to put in the oven. If I were to buy the pan and the deli pizza, I would have spent just as much money as I'd spend at the pizza joint so I passed on it. lol

It goes right on the rack if you want a crispy crust. nod

On the actual oven rack? I'd be afraid that cheese and toppings would drop down the rack to the bottom of the oven. Andy ain't gonna be bent all over cleaning no damn oven. lol

lol

Actually they make 'em so the cheese spreads out just a little, not enough to spill over the crust.

I knew it! In other words, they don't put enough cheese on it. lol

I don't like skimpy toppings. I get in fights with the delivery places all the time and I finally have to just break it down to them and say...."Uh...look dammitt. I want that damn pizza to look like it does in the TV commercial where it has so much cheese that when you pick up a piece, the cheese stretches. If you don't make it like that, then that's false damn advertising. Don't bring me no skimpy ass pizza to my door or I'm going to send it right back.". I remember I called in an order once and went to pick it up and I made them fix it over again when I looked in the box. While I was standing there, I was bitching and pointing to the picture on the wall above their heads and told them the damn pizza needed to look like the picture or it was false advertisement. I damn near started a riot up in there because the other customers kept hollering...."Hell yeah! You damn right!". Oh, that pizza place hated to see me coming. lol

They usually have pizzas where you can just put them in the oven and it's done within minutes. It's not as pre-cooked as DiGiorno's would be and I haven't tried them but they don't seem to sound like they're disgusting pizzas. As for those "pizzas you find in the freezers", I personally never had a problem with those because growing up, that's exactly what I had and that tasted good so I kinda felt insulted when Andy told me that. lol

Thin. Although it might feel a bit strange in the mouth if the stuff used on top of it comes in too big chunks. shrug

Generally, thin.

But... if it's not done right, it could be like cardboard. ill

I don't like a whole lot of weird things on top, either.

Just cheese is fine.

I absolutely despise Pizza Hut. It is deep-fried or some nonsense. shake

Pizza Hut's pizza is just basically grease, grease and more grease. That's why I had to stop eating their pizza years ago. It kept making my stomach hurt. barf

I only get Papa John's if I'm doing a delivery and get their veggie pizza on thin crust. drool

Or I buy DiGornio's pizza from the grocery store.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

There's a Papa John's up the street, but mostly the kids from the high school work there, and I was kind of turned off. lol

I agree with PurpleJedi about the Target pizza. I do like that one.

I don't eat pizza all that often, but ever once in a while I feel like going to Joe's Pizzeria in my hometown. It's been there since I was a kid, past down 3 generations. It's now run by the son, Joey, who is a year younger than I am.

The crust is thin, and they pile the cheese on. Their sauce is "tasty"- you know how some pizzas have sauce with no distinct flavor?

If I'm going to have it at home, I like to stop at Papa Murphy's for a take-and-bake. I bake it for about half the time on the baking tray, then slide it onto the oven rack for the rest of the time to crisp up the bottom crust.

I think Pizza Hut pan pizza has the best crust, hands down. Love how crispy it is on the bottom. In fact, I have a friend who is a baker - and one of his goals is to find a way to get his own pizza crust that greasy-crispy on the bottom.

There's a place in Madison (Gino's on State Street) that makes an amazing stuffed pizza. But one piece and you're pretty much done - it's a lot of food. lol They also have a store not too far from where I live that has frozen stuffed pizzas to make at home - and their lasagna, which is absolutely the best lasagna on the face of the earth.

And I love Chicago deep dish pizza. Sweetie and I go for one pretty regularly when we get down there.

Thin crust, all the way. Deep dish grosses me out usually, though I've probably had a slice or two I've liked.

I’m incredibly picky about pizza. My favorite is Neapolitan-style, perfectly-chewy hand-tossed crust, fresh, quality toppings (crushed tomatoes, fresh basil, fresh buffalo mozarella, for example) cooked in one of those extremely hot brick ovens for all of 90 seconds.

Next up is a thin crust onion pizza w/extra sauce (must be garlicly) and about a third of the usual amount of cheese.

Then I like some hand-tossed crusts and I can go all fancy with toppings – yams, mashed potatoes, various veggies, BBQ mock duck, whatever seems fun.

I can’t eat Pizza Hut and I’m not a big fan of typical New York style.

What's trippy about pizza is how many different flavors there are, even though it is a fairly simple idea.

No one pizza tastes the same.

Prefer a good italian pie like in New York, but Cincy has some really outstanding pizza. We have Adriaticos, excellent NY style pies.

Don't really eat it that often, but authentic Italian thin crust for me.

When I go home to visit the I States I am willing to indulge in a fast food style pizza of any kind; It's like they have crack in em! smile ...and actually the chain pizzas always bring back fun memories of elementary school parties---in the 70's and 80's Coke & Pizza parties were the bomb!
