Ed Wood biggrin. It's just an inspiring movie. Ed Wood and Bela Lugosi's friendship in that movie was so loveable biggrin

Blade Runner

The rooftop scene haunted & intrigued me as a child,

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate.
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
Time to die.!"

It taught me how fleeting and precious life is... and that eventually we will all die

One minute they want peace……

Then do everything to make it go away. rolleyes

Definitely up there in my top 5! Have to think hard about my favourite though!

I remember how moved I was when I first saw this scene and this film....this bit came out of nowhere, totally unexpected, one of the most touching moments in all of cinema!

I have not seen it for a long time but I was blown away by it. If I could only watch one more movie before I died it would be that one.

I wish that I could post a pic because it DESERVES IT!!!

I'm taking a day off on Wednesday because the Sundance theater here is showing another of my favorites. Pay no attention to the crazy lady bawling at the opening credits.

Quills -

Inspired by the life and work of the Marquis de Sade, Quills re-imagines the last years of the Marquis' incarceration in the insane asylum at Charenton. It stars Geoffrey Rush as the Marquis de Sade, Joaquin Phoenix as the Abbé du Coulmier, Michael Caine as Dr. Royer-Collard, and Kate Winslet as laundress Madeleine "Maddie" LeClerc.

Well received by critics, Quills garnered numerous accolades for Rush, including nominations for an Oscar and a Golden Globe.

I still don't have a favorite.

Thank you so much for posting this.

I had never heard of the Maequis de Sade before this movie. I am a sucker for period pieces, so I bought a ticket on a rainy afternoon with no clue what I was in for. Rush and Caine are amazing, especially in their scenes together but I am sure that the beautiful Winslet and Phoenex brought in more viewers. Anyway, Rush makes you love the old pervert.
