Yep-will be my 1st one. I've been a Blackberry lover for years but have had a lot of issues. Am thinking about the Samsung but I got the Omnia a long time ago and hated it!

I'm outside the US so can peeps tell me about the call-dropout issue ? Plz only reply if your outside the US ( no offence to the Americans I promise cause I'm American but living here) and US gets things especially made for the US market by suppliers and the world usually gets a different version like on the BB the US market I think has Skype as an app and the Australian market doesn't.

Thanks.

I must be crazy...............I actually only use my phone...............as a phone.

Ocassionally I will look something up on the web or text but that is about it.

I use mine primarily as a phone too, but I do text quite a bit lol

It's funny that many people I know use their phones for web, social networking, camera, etc. so much that when there is an emergency and an actual need for the phone, the battery is almost always dead or dying.

lol yep

Again, with the battery, make sure all your unused apps are actually closed. It makes a big difference

I've never had a problem with my phone's battery. I go days without charging it.

I love the way most of the human population has so little imagination that they all mindlessly went out and bought the exact SAME phone...

Yep. If I ran out every six months to buy the latest whatzit, I would feel like a chump, lol

One of the people in Best Buy was trying to sell me a new smart phone by asking what I use my phone for...when I said I use it to make calls she didn't know what to say. lol

Me too nod I'll wait 'til next summer to upgrade.I'm not one of those people who must have the "newest" model immediately when it comes out.

Me neither. I'm due for an upgrade next month, but to be honest, I probably won't jump out and get the new iPhone immediately...I'll more than likely wait for a few months. Money is tight anyway. shrug

Hell, I've never had any interest in owning a cell phone period, let alone all the upgrades that have occured over the years. They're too small, they're hard to hear, a home phone is cheaper, and the main reason I've never owned one is because I don't want people to be able to reach me at all times. Plus, that's an unnecessary extra monthly bill to have to pay that could be spent on something else.

The only time I had a cell phone was for about one month. It was one of those "go phones" that have no monthly bill and you simply buy minutes for it. I got it strictly for in case if I were to have car trouble and be stranded somewhere. It came with $10 worth of free minutes. About two months later, I got ready to use it and it was dead. I called the company and they said if you don't use the minutes within one month, you lose them. I said fuck it and threw it in the trash. Hell, I rarely talk on my home phone let alone a damn cell phone. lol

Unlike some, everything in life is not a contest of one-upmanship for me so there was no "victory". It was an amusing exchange, nothing more. shrug

I think smartphones are great, because of the features they give you.

I mean, I used to have a phone (this is like 6 years ago), and a PDA device.

Now, with smart phones you can have both.

My issue is that I do not want a PDA device to be a phone. I don't want to associate Internet browsing, games, and other useful things with phonecalls.

So to me, a phone is just a phone. Don't get me wrong--I want the other features,

but I'd rather own an iPod touch and a sepearte phone than an iPhone. I just simply

HATE talking on cellphones so much that it would ruin all the other features for me.

Eventually, I can invision a world where phones are our primary computers, and we simply

insert them or attach them to flat screens or screen-tablets to use them as actual

PCs. We're not far off from having them be that powerful.

If you really think about it, e-book readers, like the Nook can now be rooted to run class

desktop operating systems like Mac OS-9 (in reality the Nook e-Reader is a several times

faster than the last classic Mac that could run OS-9 I believe).

One day soon, the cellphone will be our Pc (or some similar mobile divice will be).

Until that day comes, I want my phone to do one thing....make calls.

Yup...I can see the smart phone's appeal but like you I don't wanna do anything on the phone except make calls.

I use my Nook for everything else...it fits right in my purse and I can actually see the screen. lol

I rooted my Nook just last week, and LOVE it.

It's perfect for PDA stuff---The interface is meh...but for what I need it to do, it's perfect.

I'm with Gray.... a phone is a phone is a phone. lol

More often these days, I leave my phone at home; I'm tired of people thinking I should be available 24/7. What Apple needs to do is undate their fucking iPod's, that would help me a lot. Samsung is on their ass, they need to get it together. lol
