That's one of my favourites! It's no "The Island" I give you that. I love how it's so much like all the english boarding school novels I devoured as a kid, with a total matter of factness about what their role was, how those kids were brought up and groomed into acceptance of their fates, or is it braveness? It was so real and normal. It was heartbreaking and strange and I loved how there was nothing sensational, no action, just get on with it!. I would give it probably a 4, 4.5 if I didn't have to suffer Keira Knightley
I know it received mostly good to great reviews, and I usually like understated, restrained movies, but this really passed me by. |
