So do my Bulls. It's really sad that they were so quickly forgotten after Derrick Rose got hurt and they lost in the first round after leading the NBA the entire regular season. Well, there's always next season, but then again Rose isn't expected back before at least next Christmas and maybe not until after next year's All Star Game.

Okay I'll congratulate and not hate

Derrick Rose is so talented-I like him alot and was hoping for the best for him and the bulls. I give Miami another year and their shit will fall apart-they always do

Miami is not winning next year Lebron got ONE ring.... thats it If Miami had of played Spurs, it would not have ended like this....
I see either Spurs or Thunder again for next year. Thunder has alot of growing to do but thats okay it was there first time in the Finals, they did an outstanding job and I see them only getting better.

No hate and no I told you so's from Cerebus.
First, congrats to the Heat. Game five was some of the most dominant Finals basketball I've ever seen. It could have been even worse, but Miami was just trading buckets with that 20+ plus point lead in the fourth quarter. OKC will be back, and if there's any justice in the basketball universe we'll get to see these teams in the finals again in the future.
Second, I love basketball. Other than music and reading, basketball is by FAR the thing that brings the most joy to my world. So I just want to give a big thanks to all the regulars in these NBA threads for keeping them civil, intelligent and fun. It's never personal for me, and it's all positive from where I'm sittin'. Looking foward to discussing the draft, the summer league, trades, free agent signings and all that. Peace.

Never said they'd win they'll be in the finals again though. Big head ass Lebron gone see to that, but I hope the Thunder learn and come back strong.

Same, the Thunder will be K.O
Its funny because I exactly became a fan of the Thunder just by rooting for them against Miami
Thunder beat some really hard teams, harder than Miami but its not how you start its how you finish but I see them being champions in the future. I hope their coach learns from this to or switches up some things, his not that good to me. The talent on that team is there, they just have to do some maturing as basketball players during FINALS. Playoffs and regular season doesnt matter once you make it to the Finals something Miami learned the hard way last year but it takes a loss or some losses to learn.... they will be fine. Derek Fisher is the only one who has Finals experience. They will learn from this and fix some things Harden is questionable though cuz he made some real stupid moves in this series
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Fisher didnt do anything this series and really isnt a factor as far as Im concerned.
I really have no excuse for Harden. I dont know what dudes problem was. His nerves were rattled.

After the game on ESPN they said OKC is the second youngest team in the history of the NBA Finals. James Harden doesn't even turn 23 until August. If they can figure out a way to keep their best players together OKC could be incredible a couples years from now.
Wayde won a title six years ago when most of the Thunder's players weren't even in the league. LeBron was the winning every award available and regularly taking a team nowhere near as good as the current Heat, or the Thunder for that matter, to the playoffs and even the Finals. Chris Bosh was averaging over 20 and 10, carrying a team on his back. The rest of their team has over 60 years of NBA experience, with Mike Miller, Shane Battier and Juwan Howard each being SOLID veterans with over ten years of experience a piece.
I know a lot of people thought OKC was going to wipe the floor with Heat, but I just didn't see it. Not yet. Give them time to grow naturally. Sure, they may win a title before then. They may win it next year. But basketball doesn't play by our microwave society rules. Greatness doesn't happen overnight. If they can keep the core of OKC together there is a good chance they'll do something great.
Now, the other side of that, the part that the "haters" will never admit to, is that the Heat are an incredibly talented team that could end up doing exactly what the Bulls did to a bunch of other great teams. That being, stop them from winning the Championships they would have won if MJ and the Bulls weren't crushing everyone in their path (*cough*ReggieMiller*cough* ). And in all likelihood, Miami is going to get better in the future. Veterans who want a title will play there for nothing. Free agent roleplayers will play there for less money to get one, too.
Only time will tell, but one thing is sure; with at least another 8-10 teams besides the Heat and Thunder in really solid shape right now, and some solid players comin' up in the draft, the future of the NBA looks great. It's defnitely going to be fun to watch.

ESPN poll before the Finals, 64-66% had Thunder beating the Heat with only 34-36% saying Heat would take. The majority was wrong!
Way to go Heat! | |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
And 70-75% of the people who said the Thunder would win did it just because they hate the Heat. No real basketball wisdom involved.
