That was trifling as hell. But I wouldn't chance it. You never know if you might end up with a psycho tax officer on your hands. Just concentrate on getting your case expedited (which is the clear and present objective), salute the Divine in that ignoramous asshole, and just keep it moving. The distraction of somehow trying to right the wrong in what she/he said is not worth the energy and could possibly take everything left field. One of my siblings works for the Feds/IRS and it's like fraternity: they stick together like white on rice & they'll have their colleagues' back before they will a "civilian". Just get your case cleared up, your proper confirmation and paperwork and toast yourself with some champagne for being the bigger person when it's all over. guitar martini

I hear ya sis. With my luck I could end up with the agent from hell. Since I believe in choosing my battles wisely I think I'll take your advice. nod

I agree with Ottie...

I guess that was the IRS agent's way of saying.... "there is nothing else you can do now but wait and see, you've done all you can do , now let us do our thing".

But instead she/he said some mess, why because that person lacks major soft skills and has zero common sense.

This is one of the reasons why though I am a social liberal, I am leaning more and more

conservative financially these days.

I'm really starting to think government is the problem--not the solution, etc....

It scares me that I'm thinking this way, but when I'm honest with myself,

I realize I dislike big government.

I guess I'm just holding out until gays get their rights. sigh

If by disliking gov't you mean the bureaucratic red tape, mismanagement and wastefulness then you ain't alone and that's a pretty much a universal sentiment on both sides, so I'm with ya there. lol

If we had smarter gov't then I think it would end up somewhat smaller anyways.

zing! no reason at all for them to say ANYTHING like that to you ever! I'm not sure I'd be able to keep that quiet even though it might be the best option.

IMO, try to figure out how to break even on your taxes. You really shouldn't owe or be owed at the end of the year. When they owe you, you're giving them a intrest free loan, and they wouldn't do the same for you that's for damn sure!

good luck, I hope your check comes quickly.

Thanks...looks like I'll be needing all the good wishes I can get, sigh

I'd be interested in your take on this one orgers...

This year I was a victim of tax fraud because somebody filed a fake tax return in my name. After I filed the necessary paperwork, I called to follow up and to find out when I could expect my refund. I was told the investigation alone could take up to 90 days and it could be up to a year before I see my money.

Okay, so I was like, "wow, really?" That's when I was told by the rep on the phone that I should "take my mind off of it by helping others"... eek She went on to explain that I would be surprised how quickly the time would go by if I concentrated on that instead of worrying about the refund.

Ain't that some sh*t? Number one, this person knows nothing of what financial hardships I might be facing and whether not I should worry. Number two, how the hell does she know that I don't already help lots of people on a regular basis without her advice or preaching?

I have the number for the taxpayer advocate, who had already advised me that I should let them know if I wasn't satisfied with the answer I got from the IRS. Being that I believe in choosing my battles wisely, should I mention that odd little exchange or leave well enough alone? I wouldn't want to incur the wrath of the gub'ment and end up getting audited for the next five years or something, so I'm not sure I should push my luck with this.

What do y'all think?

falloff I would have beat that bitch at her own game and told her ..... "I'll help them by praying for them now back to the issue of my fucking money. Where the hell is it?".

I tell ya, I'm seldom at a loss for words but this broad caught me totally off guard.

It's unfortunate that you are going through this and to top it all off, had to deal with a bitch who needs to attend a damn customer service retreat conference. I've come in contact with a few of these rude fuckers dealing with getting my refund for my student loan payment in which they overbilled me. I've yet to see my damn refund check yet and this overbilling occurred in Oct. '11. disbelief I tell ya, the government will take your shit and literally laugh at you when you call inquiring when you going to get your money back. It took me calling multiple times to finally get someone on the phone who took the time explain the process, told me what the previous reps did incorrectly (as the reason for the prolonged time wasted in why I still didn't have my refund check) and finally put the motions in place for me to eventually get my check. So now that i've given them ANOTHER 30 days, I'm going to call again this week for yet another status. I'm never giving up. Give me my muthafuckin' refund. I don't care if we come around to this October, I'm going to keep calling and be the most worrysome bitch ever until I see my check in the mail.

My advice is to just keep on pushing to get your case expedited and don't worry about the rude bitch. I know its a hard pill to swallow, because as a customer, you shouldn't be treated in such a way. At this point, it's best to just chalk it up as someone who was rude and inconsiderate of your situation but they didn't break you. The point of it all is to get the money that is rightfully yours. So keep pushing and fighting until you get it. thumbs up!

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Ain't that the truth. Just thinking about the red tape you know you're gonna have to deal with makes you tired before you even pick up the phone...dingbattery on top of that is insult to injury.

Good luck with your ordeal.

Ottie is good peeps, nod

Y'know, I spent a few years in customer service when I was younger and I wonder what type of training they undergo these days before they hit the phones?

I also called Equifax to place an alert on my credit as a precaution. After they take your information they swich you over to some call center in India where a guy you can barely understand tries to sell you an id protection package for fifteen dollars a month. No warning...suddenly there he was, eek

I tell ya...I was speechless! No snappy comeback came to mind at all.

My boss should have been on the phone speaking for you because she's good at stuff like that. One year, this out of towner guy that was doing business with us waits until the day before his service to try to pay for it before it happened. It was Good Friday before Easter and he comes with a personal out of town check when the contract clearly states "certified check or money order only". He talked all the religious stuff over the phone for weeks prior and when he comes into the office, he wants everyone to join hands and pray. Then he hand her the check. She tells him to go to the bank and get a money order and he said he couldn't because it was Good Friday and the banks were closed. She told him he'll either come up with it, or his plans for the next day will not happen and be cancelled. He told her she should trust in the Lord that the check would be good. She told him...."Well, the Lord didn't write that check. You did. And the Lord ain't gonna cover the money if it turns out to be a bad check". lol

highfive See. A woman after my own heart! I bet brother John took his happy ass on down to the licka sto, didn't he?

Supposedly its tax return fraud real bad in Florida. 2 cops who were investigating it actually got defrauded themselves. They said to the reporter that it would take them about a year to get their fundz back.

People fill out the form, open a wal-mart money card, or a Russel-simmons-im-ripping-off-po-folk card...put Tue sch/acct number for the deposit to be sent there, then they purchase and unload till it's gone.
