I saw someone get killed today

My life has been insanely stressful and emotionally painful for the last 6 weeks or so and finally today I was feeling a little better and decided to go out to do a little shopping. It was a pretty good day.

But then I saw a woman get hit and instantly killed by a bus. I don't think I have ever felt such a feeling of...I dunno...just kind of unexplainable.

I can't shake this dreadful feeling of despair now. I feel so much sadness for this women, her family, friends, the driver of the bus, all the witnesses...

It was so bad that the city is actually stopping all bus services for a few hours tnoight to give counselling to all the bus drivers in the city that so need it.

The scene is literally burned into my brain and it's just awful. My anxiety is way out of control again.

ugh, that is awful. I have actually been thinking about something like that and how I probably will see it some day too, if it doesn't actually happen to me.

Terrible for everyone!

I can relate to the last weeks having been really hard and I hope you will feel better again soon. I noticed that you were not around here (much) even though I wasn't either.

With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

Jesus Erin, that's insane, NOT what you need right now.
I'm really glad to hear about the bus driver counseling. Poor bus driver too.
My friend had to get get counseling after seeing something like that. You might also need to look into it? It's going to compound all your existing emotional distress and by now fatigue, it would do you good to talk it out.

Hugs and genuine love to you and all involved. What you experienced is surely sad and traumatizing and I hope that you can find the way to resolve the feelings into peaceful ones. You bore witness to someone's transition from this life to the next and there is something sacred about that.

Erin, I'm so sorry you witnessed that. It's truly awful!

Over 20 years ago witnessed a plane crash at an air show and to this day I remember how surreal it seemed.

Don't hesitate to seek help working through the anxiety exacerbated by what you saw today. As Supa said, you did witness someone transition from this life to the next but, until you see it that way, reach out.

Take care.

Thanks guys, I probably would have been able to cope a little better if I wasn't so on edge already.

I'm just thankful that I was on my way to pick up my son and that it didn't happen after I got him.

I just found the story online. sad

Well, at least the woman died instantly and didn't feel any pain. That's what I always say in grisly deaths such as this.

Holy crap! omg omfg cry bawl I was rattled a couple of years ago when I was on a city bus that ran over a pedestrian, but at least the pedestrian survived without any serious life-threatening injuries. I'm so sorry you had to witness that. Make sure you have someone to talk to just so you don't feel alone.

After having a shitty time she WAS stepping out and getting back into the swing of things only for this to happen. It can feel like the icing on the cake.

yes but she can't determine the shape of her life by life 's knocks...fuck me we wouldn't even get out of bed if that were the case. I recon she should post naked pics of herself to me the feeling of euphoria could be life changing razz

I'm so sad to hear that it happened, that you had to see it, etc. But I'm so grateful your son wasn't there to see it.

Take care of yourself, Erin. And by all means consider talking to a professional about it. That sort of thing is something you'll never forget.

I feel for you, it's not easy being on edge for awhile, trying to get out of it, and then something even more traumatic happens and you feel numb. Talking it out is a great idea, and even writing about it helps.
