I can vouch for Boston. I hate the Patriots, Celtics, and the Red Sox. I certainly hope the Giants kick the Patriots ass all over Lucas Field. Don't laugh at my funk

New York Sports fans are infinitely worse because of the sense of entitlement. They think it's their birthright to win championships in every sport every single year just because it's New York.
I hate every single New York Sports Team. JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!!

Congrats to the Pats and Giants fans!
My son is a die-hard 49er...I told him they shoulda went for it on 4th and 1...ah, well. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Don't hate just because NYC is the greatest city in the world, and we're passionate about our sports teams. That's how we roll.
G-Men are making their fifth Super Bowl appearance - YES!
Kyle Williams and Billy Cundiff will be lucky to make it home tonight.
All the Eli doubters can kiss my black ass. Dude was getting beat up all night by the 49er pass rush, yet he hung in there. [Edited 1/22/12 20:24pm]

Whaaatever.
The only thing that really sucks is that we lost because of one individual play after the entire team fought so hard to get to that point. At least there's something to really look forward to as a 49er fan for the first time in over a decade.

My bad i just realized Kyle Williams plays for the 49ers. He's safe but Billy Cundiff would have probably needed to drive back to Baltimore. Don't laugh at my funk

You better believe it. That team and coach have my respect. They'll be around for awhile. If Peyton Manning is healthy and he goes there, the NFC better look out!

There's a difference between passion and entitlement. Hell, weren't Giants' fans ready to fire Tom Coughlin and run Eli out of town just a month ago? JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!!

New York sports fans (and Jersey sports fans) like ALL OTHER sports fans, want their team to win ALL THE TIME!!! We're no different from any one else.
@Uptown...I was an Eli doubter . I actually laughed at him when he declared that he was an elite quaterback.
But now I call him Eli "I'm an elite quarterback" Manning!!!
Again congrats to BIG BLUE!!!!
On to the next one......

True, sports fans are fickle - but shit, that's not limited to NY.

Eli has won when it counts in the post season. Now Giants fans can forget the embarrassing loss to the Redskins and thank the ineptitude of the trainwreck that were the Jets and Cowboys for jumpstarting their post season run. Don't laugh at my funk

Actually, yeah, you are. Your sports media is different, too. What you expect, the way you talk about your teams, the way you do honestly believe that you should be winning everything, all the time. It's different. Whatever though, I'm not hating. But NY area sports fans, particularly lifers, are definitely different than other sports fans.

Still not sure Eli is "elite" just yet. He's had too much up and down to his career. But he definitely gets a disproportionate amount of hate when compared to other QBs at his level (because he's in NY *cough*). He's playing really well right now, though.

The dude takes a lickin' but keeps on tickin'. No, he'll never be as great as his brother or Tom Brady. But he gets the job done, and that's all that counts. Thankfully, he's been able to avoid major injuries, or we'd be fucked.

I go back to the '69 Knicks, so I'm definitely a NY 'lifer'. I bleed NY sports. And with my Knicks stinking up MSG, thank goodness for Big Blue.

hey, i'm really a dallas fan. however the story gets better. i'm all with some friends 2day and just b4 the 49er vs ny patriots came on air, i predicted a 23-17 ny win. even had the nerve to bet $10. guess what i won the bet, and was off by just 3points regarding ny.
ny did it, they did it, they did it, they won. “Transracial is a term that has long since been defined as the adoption of a child that is of a different race than the adoptive parents,” : https://thinkprogress.org...fb6e18544a

U must be thrilled. I'd love 2 see the Giants beat NE again.

...and what a bone headed play. Dude should have at least tried 2 recover the ball instead of trying 2 pretend it did not hit him. [Edited 1/23/12 6:36am]

I'm not a huge sports fan, but I did watch the Giants/49ers last night.
All I hafta say is that Eli Manning and Victor Cruz sure earned their paychecks yesterday. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

Lee Evans deserves goat horns too. In that pressure situation, you HAVE to secure the ball. Can't let the defender knock it out of your hands.

I saw a replay of that failed catch.
It's easy to be a Monday Morning Quarterback....and I can't catch a ball for shit myself...BUT it looks like he had it and instead of hugging the ball to secure it, he tried to move away from the other dude and opened himself up to have it knocked out of his grasp.
I feel bad for the dude...but not TOO bad 'cuz he's making a LOT of money to catch a ball and failed. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

...and I'll be the first here to say that I'm looking forward to seeing Cruz hit a Salsa two-step at the Superbowl...

The Patriots better establish the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball early or Brady will have another Super Bowl film he can't watch
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I have zero emotional investment in this, but I'm absolutely pulling for the Patriots. I believe they're one of the best teams in the history of the sport, but they need another Super Bowl win (maybe two) with a controversy free season attached to it to remove some of the small doubts people throw at them.
Also, I hate the Giants on a good day. Beating the 49ers was NOT a good day.

Yea, I heard on ESPN, Brady said he can't watch that game; he should be watching it maybe he would learn something; but then again don't watch it so he can lose again (thats for the Rip Off win they stole from Oakland long time ago)
