Thanks for the wishes Daliah!

I wish everybody a wonderful christmas time too grouphug.

As we here in Austria celebrate it on the 24th already it's in less than 7 days away for me.

I wish I could spend the day with my man cry. But as that isn't possible I will spend it at my sister's house with my mother, my sister and her husband, my niece, my nephew and maybe my brother-in-law's brother and wife too.

With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

On Saturday my boyfriend and I will be spending the day at my brother’s with his wife and kids and my parents.

We will spend that evening at my boyfriend’s house with his parents and siblings and cousins and such.

On Sunday, we’ll spend the morning alone together and will be heading to his aunt’s house in the afternoon for Xmas dinner.

Monday I will probably be home alone with my kitties, recuperating from all the socializing I have to do. lol

It seems like I'll be celebrating at my sister's place since she and her boyfriend have bought a new house. I don't really feel like being the fifth wheel on their family Christmas but since they've invited all the relatives we usually celebrate with, it's either there with them or completely alone.

Saturday is an all day family whirl wind of a day...First at my husband's sisters for their family shin dig, then to my mothers for my family shin dig (even though my brother had a huge bash at his place this past saturday) gifts for the kids and yankee swaps for the growns at both places. then home to get the kids in bed and wait for Santa wink Christmas day we usually spend all day at home in our jams just opening up packages and playing with all the toys but this year we'll be heading over to my brother in laws house for Christmas dinner. hey...least I don't have to cook. biggrin

Merry Christmas everyone!

i am so excited this year, because my husband has 5 days off from work for the christmas holiday! dancing jig first time ever since he's worked for walmart in the 8 plus years. so on x-mas eve we're going to a 6pm service at our church, and a candle light service again at 11pm, then christmas morning we will open our gifts, i'll make a yummy breakfast. afterwards we will go to our 11am church service, then out to lunch, then back home to talk to my husband's family in brazil via webcam, and call my folks on the phone. rest of the evening/night we will watch it's a wonderful life. biggrin rose

I don't have family where I am right now and neither does my girlfriend, so we'll either hang at the house of this gay couple that we're friends with on xmas eve because they always entertain a huge group of foreigners without families every holiday and we'll likely stay home, cook, watch movies and have sex on xmas like we do most sundays, oh and exchange gifts.

Change it one more time..

People may tell you that you have a small appetite... but you aren't under eating. You just aren't a pig.

You consider pizza to be bread... very good bread. You fit in best in the Midwest part of the US.

You like food that's traditional and well crafted. You aren't impressed with "gourmet" foods.

You are dependable, loyal, and conservative with your choices.

You are cultured and intellectual. You should consider traveling to Vienna.

The stereotype that best fits you is emo. You think you're special... and you kind of are.

I'm going to the party my neighbours organise at the 25th and next day I'll be traveling to London, so will spend most of the day in the train.

My family has been very kind and not minding me not being there for christmas.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

Christmas Eve me and the kids will eat a good dinner (maybe a ham/pernil... and the fixings)

drink and make a ginerbread house, sugar cookies and have gourmet icecreams, jams, ribbon candy, hot cocoa and all that jazz while the music plays and wind down to a Christmas (Jesus) themed movie.

Christmas Morning is time to open gifts while I continue my throw-down in the kitchen.

Fruit filled creeps, lots of fresh whipped cream and more liquors to go with it all. lol

Christmas day/night is when I may break out a dish of paella... I like seafood on Christmas.

I am still working on a side dish(es) ... I just can't decide. Might end up making a nice salad, chicken and figs and maybe a pumpkin side dish... I dunno. But I am definetly making the paella. hmmm

Desserts will be a rum-filled upside-down pineapple cake ( a favorite in my home) and the tradition of coquito to finish.

so yeah... I use the holidays to chill with my kids and pig out. lol

Yeah, OK, so what time exactly should I show up at your doorstep???

I have a hard time describing a pernil. You can't say "ham" because people picture the pink/cured ham with the pineapple slices and cherries on top. It's technically a roasted pork shoulder I believe?

Do you make arroz-con-gandules btw? That was a Holiday/special occassion staple at our house. I will miss that damned dish.

Also, you didn't mention coquito... no no no!

One-too-many Christmases without coquito and they will revoke your Boriqua license. nod

Actually, I DID mention coquito... its a staple in my crib on Christmas.

And yes, pernil is a pork picnic... a cut of meat not generally made by American counterparts. Its delish... I do make a spiral cut ham... but I will not pay 50 bucks for a cut of meat this Christmas.

Christmas eve will most likely be the pork shoulder (roasted) with the rice w/ gandules (its a n easy and inexpensive meal) biggrin

Spending Christmas over my sister's place with my niece and nephew.I got them some cool gifts and can't wait to see the look on their faces when they open them lol This will all happen on Christmas Eve.Yes,we open our gifts on Christmas Eve...in fact,we treat this day like the actual holiday!

On Christmas Eve night (after 10 PM),I'm gonna meetup with some friends and have a few drinks. We know of a local pub that will be open.

After sleeping in on Christmas Day (and possibly recovering from a hangover....lol),it's back to my sister's house for dinner.

Really excited about having some time off next week. Our company shuts down,so I don't go back to work until after New Years Day.
