The Adventures of Tin Tin - thumbs up.

The Muppets at the El Capitan Theater - thumbs up (Chris Cooper rapping, priceless)

Yes, I have young kids.

I hope to watch a new adult movie someday soon.

Someone here mentioned "Match Point" - that was brilliant, and was before I had kids.

In Bruges (2008) - Two Irish hitmen spend a forced holiday in Bruges, Belgium after a botched job. I can't recommend this movie enough--very funny, yet very sad and very irreverent. It's one of my favorite Christmas movies ever. star star star star star

I've seen it three times. Very good. I'd say humorous more than funny. Definitely not a comedy although at times it plays like one naturally.

Very well done except the lazy ending. so 4 out of five. Raises the bar for action movies.

This is such a good movie.

At the end, I don't know if I want to high-five him or stab him in the neck.

nod

It didn't work for me hmmm I haven't decided yet if it was the acting or the script or the casting, but I found it looooong and characters inconsistent and dialogue contrived. I'll give a 2.5/5

We Bought a Zoo

3/5 I enjoyed it. maybe it was the tigers.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

3.7/5 I enjoyed even if the critics didn't. Better than most sequels I think.

Went to see this today:

4 star out of 5

Michelle Williams did a great job! She really captured Marilyn's vulnerability quite beautifully.

Then watched SUPER 8 this eve at home.

4 of 5 star

Giving a movie a rating is like giving it an oscar: meaningless

I'll just say: watch this (if you dont mind subtitiles, dialogue, "foreigners"

and a - very much - leading lady). I loved it.

Watched The Empire Strikes Back and The Phantom Menace blu-rays on a 51" HDTV yesterday. Y'all know, or have you own opinion about the movies already, so just let me say; HOLY SHIT they look incredible! Even people who don't really care about them would wander by and say something like, "wow, that looks REALLY good!"

The Archival discs are pretty ridiculous, too. I've only watched an hour of Ep IV behind the scenes stuff so far and I've learned more about the production than the total of what I knew previously in over 30 years of being a fan.

My little nephew has gone Star Wars crazy this year, and Christmas Eve was spent watching all of this. I got him The Empire Strikes Back on top of all the other Star Wars stuff sending his mom over the edge. It was awesome watching it in blu-ray, though falloff

I was so tired and tipsy off Bailey's & hot cocoa, I don't remember much of the movie, I fell asleep on Hubster's chest lol From the few scenes I remember it was standard, holiday fare about feeling misfit in contemporary society at a time of year that should be picture postcard perfect for everyone. Pleasant enough for a 30-40-something year old crowd. Maybe star star star /5. Good movie for dozing and then jumping back in when you catch yourself falling asleep lol

Very dark satire on the life of an upwardly mobile black American family in the early 70's; and about becoming all the things which you thought you despise. Whoopi and Danny work easy and well together in this onscreen reuinion as a husband and wife. Spike Lee had his hand in this production so you can see bits and pices of his influence throughout.

I haven't seen this yet, but I did love Dogville. Tried to watch Antichrist, but read the reviews first which made me fast forward to see some of those shocking parts, I don't think I'll be revisiting that film anytime some, too much artistic-ness for my taste. Where does this movie rank in between the 2 if at all.

Over the weekend:

A couple Netflix blu ray rentals:

M (1931) criterion disc -4/5- Fritz Lang (Metropolis) classic. Peter Lorre's monlogue towards the end was a little over the top, but otherwise a great movie.

Attack of the Block (2011) -3/5- I had to turn on the subtitles since I couldn't keep up with the fast Brit slang. OK sci-fi in the hood movie, pretty predictible.

What Dreams May Come-5/5-This was a self gift for myself lol. This is one of my favorites. The visuals is just amazing on Blu ray. The blu ray also contains the alternate ending which is totally different and kinda lame.

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963)-4/5-This was a gift for my partner from me. I never seen this before and it was fun. PQ is excellent, transferred to Blu ray from a 65m print. Ethel Mermen steals this movie..

We'll probably watch the Adele concert movie on Blu ray tonight.
