For Hairy People Only

O.K. this is my issue and I don't want to talk to a bunch of lucky people who don't have to deal with this grosso crap. I absolute hate being hairy, hate it more than words can say. I have had nightmares about it too. I had nightmares where hair was growing from my tongue and I could not talk. The crazy dreams started because just when I thought that I could not possibly find more body hair I did.

My last boyfriend was probably the coolest about it. He called me his little Chia pet and just laughed and never acted grossed out by stubbly patches etc. Anyway it has definitely kept me from being promiscuous that is for sure because I really have to trust a person to disrobe around them. I shave mostly because every other method means that I have to wait until it is clearly visible in order to remove it. The wax needs something to grab onto. My hair is darkest brown and my skin is very light olive so you most definitely notice any growth at all.

Any beauty secrets, advice etc. I would have head to toe electrolysis if I could afford it!

A hairy friend of me had recurrent laser therapy and she is very happy with the results. She did it during the winter, because sun is bad during treatment. It did hurt a little, however, for her the positives outweighed the negatives.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

Im not hairy, but I do use this from time to time... Works GREAT and isnt to expensive..

NO messy wax to use, its wax that is already on these strips and you just warm them with your hands, peel apart, stick on your clean dry skin, rip off! VIOLA hair is gone!!

a friend in Germany is a Laser Therapist and the results are astounding... you have to go for treatments regularly but over time the follicles are killed off by the laser light and the hair stops growing...

ironically her biggest clients are in the erotic arts industries... lol

This did not work for me. I have very thick strong hair. When I was younger I grew my hair down to my ass and compliments every day on it. But that same abundance isn't so nice all over my friggin face. I am telling you I actually have 5 o'clock shadow in some places it is that deffinate. If I am going to be away from the house for a while I put concealer on the shadow areas.

Has anybody tried the NONo? It is an at home laser thing. Right now I am on disability so I can not get crazy with spending money. I don't know why I have not just gone into one of these spa's and had a consultation. There has to be plenty here in Florida.

Electrolysis is definitely permanent. You may need to have the same area needled a couple of times but once it is killed off that is it, over for good.

I had electrolysis when I was in jr high and it worked. When I got older the problem increased and I did not either want, to or could afford to, pay for it myself. I guess the fact that I started this thread means that it still bothers me a lot and I absolutely need to seek treatment. Honestly, if anyone mentions my issue to me I am devastated. I had someone ask if I was really a guy!

Being hairless isn't that great... I don't have enough hair and my skin suffers for it.

But here's what I found on No NO hair removal....

http://www.hairremoval.org/

Some people may have seen an infomercial claiming that the No! No! is a portable device that can remove hair permanently and painlessly. Although it isn’t as miraculous as the advertisement claims, it certainly removes the hair without any pain.

The No! No! infomercial promises to remove about 65 percent of the unwanted hair on a person’s skin, but it isn’t quite a permanent solution.

The No! No! is a painless tool that is very easy to use. After people charge the product, they can literally use it instantly to remove the hair on their body. They can just place the provided attachments onto the head of the No! No! and roll the tool along the skin.

This device is somewhat similar to laser hair removal. It uses electricity to remove hair from the skin. However, the No! No! uses an electrical wire on the head to burn the hair off. Although this seems extremely painful, the electrical charge of the No No! is low enough to keep people from feeling anything.

There are a few tedious problems with using the No! No! Although the device works reasonably well, people have to be sure to hold it perpendicular to the skin at a 90 degree angle. They have to also roll it smoothly so that it can catch all the hair on its head. It isn’t a perfect hair removal device, so don’t expect it to catch some of the smaller hairs on the skin.

The hair grows back for the first few weeks, so it may take [click to continue…]

Thanks so much; that is an excellent link! Again it seems that the hair has to be allowed to break through the serfice of the skin in order for the tool to grab hold of the hair. Basically you need to let the stubble grow in.

Are you saying that body hair is good for skin? I know I shave everything. I don't like black arm hair against my skin either.

Nair and Neet do nothing except give me a bad rash. My skin is too sensative for them and the hair is too strong for the product to work in the normal time given. Every once in a while they will come out with a new and improved which usually claims to be less harsh on skin but it never works for me.

Have you ever tried threading? Its not permanent, but you wont have a 5 oclock shadow nearly as bad because you are not cutting off the hair and making the end blunt, but rather pulling out the hair..

yeah I think that if your hair is dark shaving is a bad idea for women

but if it is light, shaving won't make it thicker necessarily. I know this because my cheeks are as smooth as a woman's but I still shave my them along with my chin/moustache

what about bleaching in between waxes?

I can sympathize with you lol I'm have lighter skin and dark hair that grows fast, so I usually shave my pits and pubs everyday and legs every other day.

Waxing does last longer, but having to grow the hair out first sucks.

Have you tried Nair and stuff? Those don't work really great for me, but I hear there is a stronger one I would like to try.

If you will, so will I

DO NOT SHAVE ALL OVER.

You have to attack the hair problem by skin type. Different skins, different hairs.

A razor is not good for all areas of the body depending on skin sensitivity. So it is best to have the hairs NOT have a blunt edge if you can help it.

I recommend threadding also for the arms and eyebrows and face. You DO NOT want those hairs having a blunt edge.

As for me... I have enough melanin in my skin to have "black skin" and the issues that come with that. Meaning that since I don't have enough hair I tend to get hyperpigmentation in areas that touch. I also have very fine hair, which feels wonderful but I am prone to ingrown hairs and keyloids. So I have to stay well exfoliated and well lotioned to keep and nice even tone and bump free. I do hair removal, my pits, vulva, eyebrows, and lower legs (shins to ankles). I do different methods for each part of my body.

So treat your hair removal according to the skin type, and yes... if your skin does NOT agree with the type of removal you choose for that area, try something else. You may find that you may have to vary in removal methods depending on where the hair growns on your body. biggrin

Yeah it is awful and it is so embarrassing for me as well. I don't know how many times I have heard comments on T.V. about hairy ladies being gross- AND I SELDOM WATCH TV. It is just something I am amazingly devastated by.

I also decided recently that, in truth, I really do want to date again. I can accept being single for the rest of my life but it is not my goal. Dating means putting your best foot forward and that means, at least in America, little to no body hair.

Waxing definitely has the smoothest finish as well. I don't have to worry about the dreaded "shadow" but instead I have to hide until enough grows out for the wax to grab onto. Stubbly legs don't bother me, it is all the other body parts that cause embarrassment.

O.K. people!!!! This is a very serious thread about body hair and it's removal!

This is not a pick up thread for hairfree ladies, GOT THAT!!!

You two need to take your horny asses someplace else lol

Meanwhile I did buy a new razor. It is the Venus Breeze and it cost $9.00 for the razor and 2 cartridges and another $19.00 for 6 more cartridges. So basically even using a razor is expensive. If I use the Dollar Store type it leaves my skin like sand paper. This at least left it smooth. (They were the purple ones with the bars of lotion attached so that you don't need shaving cream). It did a decent enough job on my body but I still can see the "pepper" marks on my face. I still would use concealer when leaving the house.

You know folks is just playing child...

Now did you see any threadding techniques on youtube?

I recommend that on the arms n such (I did hair removal in the salon I worked in -waxing mostly... ) I found that when the hair is plucked from the root enough in certain areas of the body, it regrows a bit finer. You want that in the arm and face areas.

See, its those pepper marks that would bother me. Hairy or not, all people can get that if the hair is left with a blunt edge. I recommend a bleaching agent for the facial and arm hairs as they grow in... then try to thread those hairs if you choose not to use the NoNO hair remover system.

Women who do use threadding as a form of hair removal use this tried and true method for all parts of the body. Indian women who can grow long and thick hair and have a med-coarse grade (straighter hair that doesn't split) prefer this method because the hairs grow back finer.

Threadding is bitch at first, but if you are dexterous you can do any section of your face, legs and other areas with relative ease. Its CHEAP too. giggle

Otherwise I would go with the No!No! kit. Heck I would do the No!No! for any hairs on the arms/face/neck/chest.

Wow, my friend, who I am staying with. left the tv on in the kitchen and I flipped through the channels. I never watch tv but I flipped on the Home Shopping Network and right then and there they were selling the NONO! . I felt this was a sign and I bought it. You have 4 months to pay it off. I got the 3 year warranty aswell. Anyway my first months payment will be about $126.00.

The thing that actually sold me was that you can roll it over shaved skin. That means I don't have to let the stubble on my chin and such break through in order to use it. I am so excited about this!!! They say that you get results in 6 weeks. I honestly don't care if it takes twice as long, as long as the hairs get softer and more fine. excited woot!

I definitely will. I should get it around September 15th I think. Anyway this thread is new so it should still be active at that time. Maybe I will even post pics if I can get the pepper marks to show up. I think my friend knows how to post on the web. Thanks! I think that just by starting this thread I put the energy out there into the universe that I wanted to finally deal with this issue. I believe in the power of thoughts, but not to the extent that I can meditate my body hairless.
