AHHHHHHHHHH I don't know what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!

I WANT a guitar that can play like Prince/Hendrix/and that Orianhi however you spell it :/

That's all I really want, this process is hard or maybe I'm just making it hard...

So if you had to pick the guitar that is the sound of those players, what guitar would that be? In one answer lol

This is my Ibanez RG350 being played "Clean" (no effects) through a £30 Amp by my Neighbour who is a Professional Guitarist I kind of put him on the spot and handed him my Guitar and said "Play summat" lol

http://s99.photobucket.co...eo0013.mp4

This is the same Guitar being played with 3 different effects pedals Distortion, Compressor / Sustainer and Chorus through the same amp and played by me:

http://s99.photobucket.co...eo0006.mp4

not trying to sell the Ibanez brand btw lol

I bought the Ibanez because the neck felt comfy, its slim and has a flat fingerboard. I hate the Floating trem though lol.

How much did it cost?

£279 (Gbp) not sure what that equates to in Dollars sorry. Have a look on Ebay, there is always some on there smile

This one is an ok price:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/I...2a14f7ccb9

This one is also a very nice Guitar, its $134 Dollars - I was actually going to buy this model rather than the RG350, but changed my mind at the last minute confused

http://www.ebay.com/itm/I...415e368cd2

However Ibanez do lots of different styles, check their site:

http://www.ibanez.com/Ele...itars/home

Fender Squire here:

Uhm, it's not the guitar that plays like them, it's actually those people who make their guitars sound like they do. A good guitarist can make any guitar sound good and way more than 50% of anyone's trademark sound come from what they do with their fingers, not from the guitar or amp.

If you want to make your guitar sound like theirs, listen to and watch them closely and practise seven hours a day. Nothing less will get you there, I'm afraid.

Don't even bother looking for a Hohner. That guitar is like a piece of junk to anyone who's not Prince. He can only make it do what it does because he's a genius.

Amp choice is easy: Fender Mustang I or II ($100-200). Amazing value.

I say pick the guitar that looks coolest to you and go for it. As long as it's not a Cort, and even if it is, you should do just fine.

IMO you would be better off spending the money on a decent tube amp.

The cheap guitar can still sound awesome through a good amp, but an expensive guitar will still sound terrible through a bad amp.

The Hohner is just a copy of a Telecaster, and since those are much easier to find anyway, you might as well just go for the Telecaster

smile it means "In My Opinion"

a good amp, well that is a whole other discussion. One of the biggest distinctions in amps is whether it is a tube amp or not.

I prefer the sound of tube amps, but they are more expensive and might need repairs more often.

Here's an example of a pretty cheap one

http://www.musiciansfrien...-combo-amp

So if you spend $200 on a guitar and $500 on an amp, and maybe $100 on an overdrive/distortion pedal you will have a decent little setup.

I suggest you read some of the discussions on this site
