I remember this heated conversation I had with some Nigerian religious guy during my flight back from Chicago...he asked me what my religion was and he kept talking about gays in the USA and how being gay and supporting gays goes against God´s will, and that there was a special reason why I was sitting next to him ( so he could tell me about Jesus and I´d convert to Christianity and be saved because otherwise I´d go straight to hell....I told him that people like him should stay the fuck out of America or Europe or any other civilized country and that I find all major religions equally stupid and arrogant). He also told me that every citizen has the duty to report gay people to the police and that necklacing and burning them is a good thing.

This ignorance and its supporters need to be exposed, and people HAVE to see the horror that comes with homophobia in certain countries such as Jamaica, Uganda, Iran or Nigeria and countless other countries. They need to see this because a lot of people don´t really give a shit about this because they don´t know how drastic and brutal homophobic people and societies can be.

the scary thing is that many people from Europe and the USA would love to see something like this, perhaps without the final burning/killing, but close...

I agree with you that nobody should forget that people are tortured and killed for their sexuality. My thoughts on this are not in doubt. But before you swear at me again, go back and read my post PROPERLY. You'll see that I was objecting to the video being posted and specifically POSTED WITHOUT COMMENT. This isn't political or making a statement unless a point in being made. And it wasn't. Without the point it could easily be construed as sick voyeurism.

And before you have a further go or others like Kooleaze "co-sign" you for shitting on my post again, let me put this is context.

I'm objecting to this because nothing is clearly stated and the original poster has only now amended the video to provide some sort of explanation or reason for posting something so horrible.

no seriously, there's no actual information on the link. And normally in South Africa they mob execute people they consider criminals like murderers and such. Is there anything in the video (I just can't watch it all the way through! But I saw the beginning and end) or any related article type about the context of this torture/execution? I did not watch it but I knew it wasn't positive, I did not realize he died. I looked up necklacing in wiki after I read your post and that clued me in more. Which one of Nelson Mandela's wives supports this? I can't take it that anyone would support this. The Guillotine was better than some of the stuff people are doing now.

i watched it last night for just under a minute, i just couldnt bear 2 watch the whole thing, i prayed that he didnt die and that someone stopped it, but then i read other comments and it was too painful 4 me.
