Your Oldest Memory?

My oldest memory is seeing my younger brother for the first time. I was 3 years old(November 1964). It rained like hell, and I was sitting in my godfather's car waiting for my parents to come out of the hospital. They got in, and I leaned over to see my brother. He was asleep and wrapped in a yellow blanket.

This is kinda sad but I have very little memory of my childhood. My brothers will be telling a story and I'll be like, "Was I there?" and they are all like, "Ah, ya."

It's weird.

swallowing a penny.

and of me laying my head on my mama's lap, watching catoons.

Telling my brother grand stories I was making up out of thin air, while telling him they were dreams I'd had.

...Being outside where my grandmother lived at the time, on a hot summer day, and smelling chocolate chip cookies baking. I remember that they were honestly the best thing I ever smelled, and wondering which house the smell was coming from lol .

Last year I told my mom about it and she actually remembered that and told me it was my grandmother that was baking them. I remember my mom being just really surprised that I remembered that and a few minutes later, she was on the phone calling my aunt, telling her all about it lol .

Living in Germany, my dad took one of his old army tents and built a treehouse in one of our cherry trees in our backyard. I remember throwing cherries at the white walls of our house because they made that cool splat effect. I also got in boatloads of trouble and got to scrub those walls.

I was 4.

I have a very fuzzy recollection of being on a plane to visit my father's family in Nashville, Tennessee, when I was about 3.

I remember my Dad taking me to work with him,to pick up his check. He showed me the lunch room, and bought me a box of Cracker Jacks out of the vending machine. I even remember what the prize in the box was.

It was in Thailand.

In the back of one of these:

I couldn't have been more than 2 or 3 (as a matter of fact, I'm certain I wasn't because I moved to Guam before I was 4).

I was blowing bubbles out of some weird chemical-smelling type of bubble maker. It was yellow and red, and hand stripes of blue--very pretty. It has a very distinct smell like aerosol.

I also remember attempting to walk when I was very young, and walking to the back of my grandmas house near a pond and being fascinated by chickens.

This is tough... I'd have to think harder... I kind of remember my first conscious thought. I said to myself, 'Wow _ _ _ _ is crazy!" and I was afraid. I was maybe about 3 or 4.

I remember the day my mom brought home a Chihuahua named "Coco".

She was standing in the living room "introducing" him to all of us. I can remember sitting cross legged on the floor playing with the carpet.

That was January 1977, a month before I turned 3.

On a side note...that little fucker lived a loong life. We finally put him to sleep when I was 20 and he was coming up on 18 years (126 in dog years!). He had cataracts and could barely walk, and we all had to practically do an intervention on my mom to let him go.

He was like my little brother cry

I remember sounds, visions of the past come afterwards. I remember my grandparents, those are the first familiar faces I got in mind. I remember my grandpa blowing my nose and changing my diapers like a father would do. I remember wondering where my mum was gone. I also remember the hospital and my blindness after getting operated for eyes issues... Weird times...

My first memory is from when I was not even 1, I think.

I was at my cousins home. They lived near a railroad and I remember standing next to my cousin, holding on to a wired fence watching a train go by.

After the train had passed we wobbled back indoors and I struggled to keep the door open because it was too heavy for me.

I actually have quite a few memories from when I was 2 (1976-1977):

The spanking for dancing on the glass table in the living room and performing "Danicing Machine".

The release of the J5 Anthology, The Jacksons self-titled lp, and the first summer of their variety show. (Remember trying to fall asleep one night while "Maybe Tomorrow" was playing on our lil record player).

The toy tool box my dad bought me (that rubber smell was awful!)

Playing in the yard of our first house, the visits from my aunt and grandparent at this same house, and when the house caught on fire when he had to jump out of the winow to escape the flame and smoke.

My mom playing Stevie's SOTKIL nonstop in the duplex we moved to after the fire.

My third b-day, had a cool cake with a motorcycle on it!

I have quite a few memories from the apartment we lived in when I was a year old - playing in the kitchen, riding my tricycle, etc.

My earliest memory is from when I was about 2 and a half years old. It was from the day my younger sister was born and my father, my older sister, my grandmother and I went to see her for the first time. I remember it pretty vividly and I remember they were talking about me and how I was behaving badly since my mother wasn't home lol

This is kinda making me wonder if my nephew is remembering anything from now. He's about the same age I was in my first memory smile

Age: 3yrs old 1956 Place: My Grandma Teodora's house, in Ponce, PR.

She'd stand near me as I'd brush my teeth by the opened back-door.

Odd how I still remember how her back yard looked.

Another, if I may. Same place. Year: 1958

My Uncle Chago (Santiago) was lifting weights, in the yard near a window.

I spat at him, several times. So... he locked me in the chicken coop. lol Dang I was bad.

I remember my mom sitting me on the table and putting lotion on me when I had the chicken pox at 7 months old. My 4 year old brother was pointing out all the pox to her.

Just bad shit, like looking after my parents when they were passed out drunk/stoned. Or the time when my mum yanked the towel I was standing on from under my feet and I hit myself on the bathroom sink. Still got the scar under my chin. neutral

My oldest memory was my mother trying to teach me how to walk as a baby. She stood me up on one side of the room and she went to the other side of the room, waving a chocolate chip cookie in the air. I ended up learning how to run before I could walk. lol

Those are my earliest memories, so perhaps about 3. When I was 3 my dad kicked my mum out for shooting heroin and then he and I were alone for 3 years.
