I totally understand why they have to investigate and why everyone is covering themselves by requesting written permission (healthcare privacy laws and regulations are no joke!) but it’s just a damn shame all around that because of some ignorant jerkoff you have to jump through these hoops now.

I have to say that the quick responses from the org community has made me feel better about it. Earlier this year I was trying to get ideas together to help out an orger who just had a sickly baby. I did not even know this person and I was not trying to raise much, just enough to show we care. Anyway, other then Kim R. no one was interested and I was pretty and dismayed at that.

This response for Erin makes me feel like we are more then just a bunch of people who are opinionated and like to type.

Erin will get her chair, and who ever this asshole is "tell the devil I said 'hey' when you get back to where you're from".

You probably don't know who the fuck I am Punkmistress but I'm sorry to hear about your illness. I have a family member going through something similar.

If the site is opened and still running in a couple of weeks I'd be more than happy to help out as well if I am able to do so..no matter how small because every dollar counts.

I understand that. I used to work in a hospital and there is something called HIPAA, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, which all healthcare agencies must adhere to. There are hefty fines for noncompliance.

But to the asshole who did this, what a nasty thing to do. All I have to say is, what goes around...

Chris and Erin, I still intend to donate, even if I have to go the Paypal route, which I don't mind at all since I use it all the time in Ebay.

I contacted the seller, who lives a few hours away from us. She's going to meet us this weekend so I can look at the chair and take it for a spin!
