I am happy to see the page is going back up.

I've been using a (borrowed) wheelchair for a year now. The snorkeling picture wouldn't have been possible without Christopher pushing me everywhere. He has a bad back. He also can't come to work with me to push me around. This is part of why I need a motorized chair.

What happened with the validation and the site owners? What happened to the donations made on the other site?

The site owners continued to behave strangely. Nothing seemed to be enough to convince them that I was not posting a fraudulent cause, even after receiving my medical records, info on EDS from the National Institutes of Health, and TWO of my doctors offices tried to contact them! Some friends have speculated that since my fundraiser met its goal in less than two days, GF wanted to keep that money in some sort of interest-bearing account for longer, hence the poorly-explained delays.

Because of the way they have handled this, we have asked GiveForward to refund every penny to every donor, and I have sent a message to every donor through GiveForward letting them know that their money will be refunded, with a link to the new page if they choose to still donate after their refund from GF.

Once people's donations are refunded from GiveForward, if they would still like to help us buy a power wheelchair, they can go to http://www.bennettsgb.com/ and that donation goes directly to us. No 7% cut going to GiveForward or anyone else.

I thank everyone for their generosity, patience, love and support.

We have now "lost" all of the donations that were given through GiveForward. Over $2,000 that was raised in less than two days.

I have asked for refunds to be processed no later than Monday morning. If after being put through this people still wish to donate (and many already have) I am doubly inspired and thankful.
