Dog People: Tell us why your breed is the best. Mutts are welcomed, My dog is in his last years and im thinking about getting a another dog maybe a different breed..
I gotta say Labrador Retrievers are best!
- They come in 3 different colors. - Athletic as hell - They're attention whores so there excellent with people and especially children. - Not aggresive but will protect the house and family. - Very smart and easy to train ......IF TRAINED WELL ( I've Seen some stupid labs before) - They are popular dogs and they grace the covers of dog food, treats bags, and other dog shit - They age gracefully
Cons They dont live as long They eat anything ........i mean anything! ( House siding , underwear, money, whole chewtoys! )

I've only had one breed in my life: German Shepherd. They're great at protecting the house.

No. Though I did get scratched once (not a snapped move but more of a playing one) but I didn't get injured at all lol but other than that no.

My baby is a Cane Corso (Italian Mastiff). His breed is the closest thing to being an ancient breed. The original Molasser was bred down to a Neopolitan Mastiff and the Cane Corso. He is the sweetest baby! He is moderate energy, which means his breed does well in the house. I'm in love with him. All orgers on FB know how much I love him, because I post a photo everyday.
Him at 9 weeks!

Him at 14 weeks!

And although he is only 15 weeks now, I am providing a picture of a full grown, 120 pound Cane Corso:

I grew up with labs. They're sweeties! My brother has two. He has a huge chocolate lab named Stuart. He's 90 pounds of super love. He is an avid bird hunter, and those two love it!

I have no idea if my dog is representative of his x-breed I wanted a cat not a dog, but it was 4 against 1 at my house so we got a schnoodle. He is a happy little guy always by my side, plays with the kids outside and is very smart, friendly and affectionate

And they have TOO much personality and are so humanlike it's scary. One of mine is very vocal and whine-talks and cries when he's happy or displeased with something. It's the craziest thing to be verbally cussed out by a damn dog.

My dog is called a cat! And he's best because I simply put out food and water and clean the litter daily, and he takes care of the rest. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

what breed? | |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
They're a shit-talking bunch!
They really get along and constantly cuddle in the same bed no matter how uncomfortable it looks. Since I regularly have new dogs that I foster until they get adopted they're really used to other dogs being in their space and it doesn't phase them at all. Even the fosters, many who are abused puppy mill dogs with little or no socialization have never attacked one of my three dogs. They all just be chillin and plottin' against my ass.

My cat? He's a Manx, but is mixed with some colorpoint breed, likely Tonkinese. [Edited 6/15/11 18:52pm] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I pretty much really like all dogs.
I've had 2 weimaraners, and I currently have a german shorthaired pointer and schnoodle.
By far the smartest dogs were the weims. I've never encountered another dog that came even remotely close to those two dogs in terms of their personality and intelligence, they were almost creepy human-like in how they behaved....which was awesome sometimes and a total pain in the ass other times.
I've raised my dogs all the same way and the two I have now are well behaved and loving but they are nothing like those crazy weimaraners.
So I guess they are my favorite breed. I'm kinda drawn to standard poodles and dobermans as well....but again, I like all dogs.
Although, I do find pushed in face dogs ugly...not that I'd ever turn one away that needed a home.

My black ass would know better than to let a cat get that close until it wanted some food.
