My dog was the most perfect dog I could have imagined, He was a mixture between a German shepherd and a keeshond. The dogs my bf has are mixed dogs too, IMO they are the best anyway and I prefer them to any "pure" breed dog. They are more individual too. If I had to go with a breed I'd probably choose this one as I totally fell in love with that dog and wished I could have taken it with me love.

Mine, because its a cat. lol Seriously though, I would have a dog if I felt like the time was right. But its not, so I'm going to hold off until I have the right place, amount of time, etc. This is what I want, though...

our dog does a whole lot of barking at the neighborhood through the window and scavenging for morsels of food on the floor when he's not busy doing nothing.

I have had dog companionship since birth. So many breeds and mutts. I have to say my favourite by far has been Australian Cattle dogs.

Several years ago I had 2 red ACD's and a min. Scnauzer.

[img:$uid]http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c386/Shanti0608/Dogs/IMG_1069.jpg[/img:$uid]

Then I wanted a blue heeler/ACD so we got him:

[img:$uid]http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c386/Shanti0608/Dylan/miguel040.jpg[/img:$uid]

ACD's are smarter than most humans that I know. Great breed for the right person.

Parrots are cool, but they fly so high and live up in the trees so you can hardly see them pout. I did not notice for a while that parrots were livings in the trees next to my boyfriend's house boxed.

Mutts are welcomed, My dog is in his last years sad and im thinking about getting a another dog maybe a different breed..

I gotta say Labrador Retrievers are best!

- They come in 3 different colors.

- Athletic as hell lol

- They're attention whores so there excellent with people and especially children.

- Not aggresive but will protect the house and family.

- Very smart and easy to train ......IF TRAINED WELL lol ( I've Seen some stupid labs before)

- They are popular dogs and they grace the covers of dog food, treats bags, and other dog shit

- They age gracefully lol

Cons

They dont live as long sad

They eat anything ........i mean anything! ( House siding , underwear, money, whole chewtoys! lol)

Retrievers. mushy

I have now my second german shepherd. They are great dogs! very smart, very loyal and very tolerant of the cat and the kids. My first german was best buddies with the cats, used to all curl up together and sleep. smile

we had a doberman when I was a kid, mushy fond memories of her, she was great.

Mutts are always great! smile

I'm sorry, but this is my LEAST favorite dog. I have an aunt and uncle who have them and...they are just snippy, crabby little bitches. Kids can't be around them, you have to approach them with caution. My aunt and uncle treat them like babies, spoil them rotten, and they don't have kids so they are not used to kids but...they have forever set in my mind that they suck.

I pretty much really like all dogs.

I've had 2 weimaraners, and I currently have a german shorthaired pointer and schnoodle.

By far the smartest dogs were the weims. I've never encountered another dog that came even remotely close to those two dogs in terms of their personality and intelligence, they were almost creepy human-like in how they behaved....which was awesome sometimes and a total pain in the ass other times.

I've raised my dogs all the same way and the two I have now are well behaved and loving but they are nothing like those crazy weimaraners.

So I guess they are my favorite breed. I'm kinda drawn to standard poodles and dobermans as well....but again, I like all dogs.

Although, I do find pushed in face dogs ugly...not that I'd ever turn one away that needed a home.

Weimaraners are a bit hard to find over here because the breeders only sell them to forest rangers or huntsmen but because of that, more and more weimaraner owners tend to breed and sell them to people who have nothing to do with foresting or hunting.

What exactly was so human-like about them? I heard they are a bit difficult to train and they say it usually takes an experienced person to own or train a weimaraner. I always thought that Jack Russell terriers were the most intelligent dogs but weimaraners have that reputation, too.

This is going to sound nuts, but I swear they have analytical skills. Like, I saw some serious problem solving going on, and true scheming. My last one would trick my other dog (the GSHP) to get something she wanted, and she always have to get the last word if I was scolding her...even if it was just the quietest of a response - she just couldn't resist. She'd get all pissy if you laughed at her, weird things like that.

There are so many things I can list....she seemed to understand literally everything I said. For example I'd say, "where is your red kong?" and she would start to look for that specific one, not getting her black one or anything else nearby. Then I would say, "I think it's in the upstairs bathroom" and she would go directly to that room to get it. No matter what toy I asked her to get, no matter which different room it was in...she always understood immediately. I never taught her any of that stuff, and my two dogs now certainly could never do that. lol

They are a handful because they are high strung and smart and would prefer to do what they want, not what you want them to do....luckily, most times they just really want to be with you...so you tend to want the same things.

If they are not given enough affection and attention, or are left alone a lot they will tear the shit out of your house.

I'm not making a claim that they are the smartest dogs or anything, just that I've never seen anything like them in terms of personality.

Considering that the Canadian Lynx is a protected "threatened" species, you'll never have one. lol

We have them in this area, but I've never seen one in the wild.

I love dogs, and these pictures are soo cute! mushy love

I seem to like all dogs, but I agree, Retrievers are VERY nice dogs. I have dog sat several of them now, and they are really sweet.

I recently dog sat for a Puli, or as some folks call them, a Rasta dog:

[img:$uid]http://pulipuppiesblog.com/files/komondor3.jpg[/img:$uid]

mushy The Puli that I sat for would bark at me as soon as I came into her house. But if I ignored her, she would stop. lol I love the Puli's long dreadlocks; they cover up the dog's eyes, and all's you can see is their nose and mouth. lol Very cool and different looking dogs. Can't say that they're my absolute favorite breed of dog, but I do like them.

RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I'm currently pet sitting an African Gray. Very funny bird - he says a lot of different phrases such as, "More water". He'll say that even when he has a fresh bowl of water in his cage. lol He also will announce when he's pooped in his water dish, because he wants you to refill it. lol He talks a lot and makes a lot of different noises. He even imitates someone laughing. lol Never a dull moment with him around, plus I'm also pet sitting three dogs that live in the same house. It's fun. smile
