Fair enough no one what to hear people talk about themselves
i just think its good for people to get an outlet to talk about themselves and for people to here it. its like therapy, you dont go to the therapist to talk about other people you go in mainly to talk about your perception and how you feel. i think thats why alot of people are unhappy no outlet to talk about themselves
everyone is insecure or self doubtful about something ....no matter how people try to seperate themselves from it is just human nature..
plus those photowhore threads don hit the 300s for nothing everyone is just begging for a good comment on there..you can see the thirst for a nice comment coming off screen but i love it though

number one source of org disagreements ..misunderstood fellow orgers

I share that trait with you, and admire your tendency to engage in debate with civility.

I think you should post additional photos so we all can decide. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

okay, here is another example of what i am trying to say. right there. your reaction to my post.
when i typed 'threads like this are kind of silly' (and failed to clarify that observation, sorry), your conclusion was that i meant: 'this thread is silly because it is a call for validation'
what i meant, however, is this: 'this thread is silly because i can never know how the ORG perceives me. no one can. i can only guess.'
the reason why is that each one of the people on the ORG will have their own reaction to what i say. all different. some will like me, some will not. some will recognize me for the middle aged old fart i am, others will mistake me for a younger guy, instead of a gal it's life.
now, if i'd taken more time and edited my prior post more carefully, i would have likely reached the point where i'd have changed the word 'silly' to something else for lack of desire to offend the OP. that was a poor choice of words. what i meant by silly is that the thread spins around on itself.
the thread is actually interesting because, as someone up above said, we do se a pattern here with posts. a general trend that people feel misunderstood here. i think that is normal and natural for a medium like this.
there are so many facets to human interaction, and so many non-verbal cues in face-to-face interaction (which is the form of communication we all base our reactions on), that the missing non-verbal /face to face element here at the ORG hampers real communication, imo

I feel the same way. I've lurked in some of the "post yyour favorite Orger" threads, and my name has never come up. So I'm not sure if the Org doesn't like me or they just forgot about me.

"To thine own self be true." "Know thyself"
Have to do the first, before you do the second. If someone can't write more than one sentence on how others perceive them (you don't have to believe it) that individual doesn't know themselves and therefore can never be true to themselves.

I suspect many people see me as an arrogant, know-it-all, moralistic, pain in the ass, based on my posts in P&R. And, hell, they're probably right! But other people - people whose opinion I respect - make affirmative, encouraging comments too, so I get my validation from that, which is enough for me.
I dunno. I'd like to be everyone's pal and I actually really admire people who manage to just get along with everyone and avoid disagreements. But I read things I disagree with, and feel compelled to respond - really, it's like an affliction. There are things go unsaid and I want to make sure that they're said. No doubt that gets people's backs up, and no doubt I go in too hard with all guns blazing sometimes, but it's most often the case that I'm frustrated with what I see as misleading and even harmful ways of viewing things that have somehow become common currency, and are being repeated by otherwise decent, thoughtful people here, rather than trying to say fellow Orgers are stupid or malevolent, etc. (For the record, the vast majority of people I've come in contact with here - even those I disagree with - seem like nice folk who I'd be happy to have a drink with and bitch enthusiastically about why it'd be better to give ten songs a full and committed airing in concert, and risk making a few people grumpy, rather than trying to cram fifty songs into a medley which ends up pleasing no-one. ) I do usually come down off my high horse after the initial volley of slaps and hair-pulling, I think, so do stick with me.
