Ooh, whistle.

I see you as actually a very sweet guy - though you would probably hate being called sweet. You're actually quite funny, but also a bit of a grumpy-arse.

I don't recall seeing a photo of you, but you remind me of Jack Dee.

It depends on the orger you ask. I've been sensitive, a bully, brutally honest, a bitch, and a whole bunch of other stuff. I can be all of that, here and in real life, Except that bully BS. I think people don't like what I say sometimes so they call me that. Some people on this site don't like to be called on their bullshit so they think I'm rude. Fuck 'em. lol

For the most part, I don't care how I'm perceived here. I am who I am and this also applies to the people here who know me in real life. I'm the same all the time.

NBJ, Efan and psychodelicide, when I see your names on here, it always makes me smile. You guys are part of the reason why the org is "home".

the internet is a communication medium that relies on a 50/50 interactive balance.

fifty precent is what i type, fifty-percent is how folks on the ORG interpret what i type.

some ORGers like my posts, some don't. some ORGers understand the meaning behind what i type, others project their own bias onto it. some hate my screenname just because.

i've been perceived as a bully for airing my personal opinions on literary works in the GD forum;

i've been accused of racism for not falling in line with the notion that reparations to the descendants of slaves are absolutely in order in the P&R forum; and

i've been called intolerant for openly criticizing religious doctrines that permit and even foster the promotion of outright lies in the P&R forum.

SO therefore

from at least one ORGer's point of view, i am a bully.

from another ORGer's point of view, i am a racist

from yet another ORGer's point of biew, i am intolerant.

BUT in real life i am none of those things. so the ORG's perceptions of me in general are not what you could call 'reality based' and so i don't tend to notice much what other people think they know about what i might have said here at the ORG unless someone calls my attention to it.

just my 2c

I disagree. In reality people their perception also defines their opinion of you. On the org, their interpreations oftentimes is not colored by your status, looks, background, gender. Because it's not 'in their face'. That's what I like about it.

It's your values and how you communicate what is decisive in the long run. And yes, your opinions might not be always agreed upon, however, that's something different than your persona. E.g. I disagree with Superman a lot, however, I do cherish him deerly.

person by person, i would bet that the ORG experience is different for each of us.

which is why threads like this are kind of silly, imo, and pardon me for saying so.

Yep. You'r right.

The thread seems like a call for validation. To me that's no silly. Insecurity is not silly, most of the times it's not necessary and irrational. And invalidating.

And I realy like the silly threads. Ofcourse, now and then a serious one is good for the image. However, the silly ones do make my day lol

I think I am appreciated but not liked.

I am appreciated for the research I do, especially for others.

Also for ignoring the insults directed at me.

I am not liked for a variety of reasons I think.

1. I am stubborn and I can, will and have held my position, even against a majority thinking I'm

wrong.

2. I fact check claims that I don't know to be true or don't sound reliable. But if it's not fact, don't represent it as such.

3. I have a rationale that comes across as uncaring, cold and heartless with no compassion for

the specfics of a case. (You can't make law on specific cases though, that's just making it up as

we go along.)

4. I don't act like a Democrat or Republican and I think it frustrates those who would slap a label

on me and be done.

No doubt there are others, but those are the first perceptions that came to mind.

Obviously, I don't care how other orgers perceive me. There's no one here I don't or won't communicate with.

I say what I think and don't worry about how any other orger will react. Even with orgers I like a lot. I don't take it away from the computer. I'm not here because I have a need to be liked.

I do love sharing information and this has been a wonderful outlet for that.

I like you for all the reasons you think people wouldn't. If I see your name on a post I make sure to read it. You just come across as smart and fair. Yes, stubborn and arrogant too sometimes, but heck nobody's perfect. razz
