We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I'm curious (and please don't take this the wrong way - and perhaps it's the subject for another thread):

From your posts, it seems that you are very, very invested in your significant-other. What would happen to your well-being if, say, you found out that he or she was cheating on you? Or if they left you?

Again, this is sincerely not meant as a "dig"; I really like you and always worry when I hear someone who seems to make someone else their world.

I think you have to be invested for a relationship to work. Don't you?

Don't misunderstand - while he's a huge (and certainly the best) part of my world, he isn't my whole world. I have a career (two, really - writing and acting), my own income, and friends who, if anything ever happened to us as a couple, would be there for me.

I can't really deal with a hypothetical like that. A lot would depend on the circumstances. It'd be shattering, but I'm fairly certain I'd get through it.

Frankly, considering the year he's had health-wise, I've been more afraid he might die than that he might cheat.

Okay, I'm less worried about you now. And I'm sorry to hear that he's having health issues. sad

working with animals. I've always wanted to do it and I'm good at it and animals seem to really like me. Just too much bullshit and unnecessary drama in the profession these days....

I'm with you on that. Lately, I feel like I should be working with animals too. I do work part-time as a pet sitter, helping out another couple, but I wish it could be full-time (40 hours a week). I love working with the animals, they are so cute. People, on the other hand, can be difficult to deal with.

RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.
