The way I see it, even if you try to tell the person that the guy or girl they're going to marry is not right for them, there's a good chance that they're not going to listen to you anyways. i have been to some that I knew would not last, and strangely, those are the ones that have lasted so far!

My cousin's first marriage lasted about a year. I was so ticked because of all the loot I spent on gifts.

I remember another distant cousin of mine that got married in the 90's...(I was in middle school) and her wedding was so elaborate and expensive. I think her parents must have dished out 6 figures to pay for that wedding. The cake was out of this world, open bar for hours, free champagne going around, real flowers were everywhere. About 250+ people at the reception and everything was held out of her home state and in the state where she went to college at (and later dropped out)...but anyway, the groom was crying like a big ole' newborn baby at the alter proclaiming his love for her. The whole marriage didn't last but 3 months.
