There would be all kinds of hell if I came in contact with a situation like this. That poor beautiful child. Such suffering and horror and my heart goes out to her. But if child welfare had already been there more than once, then surely they would have done something had the lady been mentally unstable or worse. Right? I mean, right???

This happens too many times to children whose parents have already been "visited" several times by social workers. The system needs a MAJOR overhaul. There really is no one to protect these children.

And I still want to know what the oxygen tank was for...

Isn't it amazing how even the most severely mentally ill person (allegedly in her case) will preserve their own life yet torture and end the life of a child? I think this woman was evil. Some folk know how to play crazy.

The child welfare system is so severely flawed. There are even cases of foster parents abusing even killing a child. It's those in need of protection and/or assistance - the children - who get let down. Laws need to be changed.

Same kind of things happen here in the UK too, time & time again the news reports the death of a child that was visited by social services many times previously... how can they keep allowing this to happen??? I realise there are a lot of problems that need dealing with at the moment but you'd think dying children would be a priority?

The extended family and father are not there for those children, some mothers are left to be the sole source of support for children and IMO this mom was probably resentful that she was left to care for her own kids alone.

It angers me greatly that any father could leave a child with a mother like that. That poor girl, she never had a chance.

why don't we hear about kids that get saved, why do they have to die like that, it's horrible

Anybody can birth a baby or squirt some sperm but not everyone is fit to be a parent. I wish we would stop glorifying parenthood like it's something everyone needs to do and start handing prophylactics and advocating for sterilization like crazy. Hell, even abortion would be better than having children being brought into this world to be abused, tortured, and murdered!

I wish I had enough money to rescue all the babies that will go through this before it happens.......I was at a resturant once and this "crack head" come in w/ her 3 year old on her hip begging for a beer because she had told the owner who was stealing from him.

The cops come in to get a report from her and out of her mouth she says "that kids parents shoulda whipped his ass like I do mine. I enjoy whipping my kids asses". I'm standing there waiting for this cop to do/say something and he just goes on w/ his normal questioning. She gets her beer and all I could do was think I could take that child and run and she probably wouldn't even care.........I was depressed the whole day and think of that boy often. I hope to God someone rescues him one day.
