iconic photos

Which photos best capture a moment in history in a single shot ???

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

This is not only one of the most iconic moments in American history, but it is one of my favorite photographs. rose

I don't think that "iconic" necessarily needs to be sad.

This will be remembered forever.

... and then there's...

A moment in time that none of us with forget, despite the countless hours of therapy and the deep denial.

The photo makes me feel very sad, but it also moves me too - like this is someone who has placed their fate into the hands of God and is confronting their mortality head-on. In that sense, capturing that one singular moment, it's a beautiful thing. It doesn't make it any less disturbing however.

If any of you get the chance to see the amazing documentary 'The Falling Man', I urge you to do so.

EDIT:

You can now watch the entire documentary via youtube:
