while I was not happy that they (Gorilla Sacks) also paid ppl to vote for them (I don't think they passed us as #2 in number of votes [and I know they couldn't have passed Coast City Styles' annoying, paying off half of India to vote for them ass]), as a product, there's was the only one I liked after Latin Pop Shop -- since I'm all 'green' & love animals and isht....
yes, John should have won the grand prize.......... but he's right; this is still a great opportunity and I'm sure great things will come of it
I just have to stay out of their fan page/blog today .... my snark is strong.

Too funny!
It's really crummy that people resorted to underhanded means, but ya'll didn't and took 2nd. That's fantastic!

Cool! Too bad you didn't win but at least you got something tangible out of it, and I'm sure you've created a lot of buzz and hype for your website in the process.
What was the end result of your art exhibition last year by the way? How much did you sell? Did the exhibition have any other spin-off effects, such as new contacts made, publicity, new assignments etc? |

Which one? The one in MD or the one in VA?
Some sales and clients from each.
Planning on a cyber exhibit real soon. |

Oh, I'm not sure which one. It was back in July of last year I believe. Cool that you had another one as well and great that you got new clients. Then it's not just a one-off thing.
I had a photo exhibition at a gallery in December where lots of people came by to look but not many bought anything. I was then offered to move the exhibit over to an upscale hair salon that had their very own gallery section. There I obviously didn't get to meet the visitors but I sold a whole lot, so in a way the two exhibitions gave me the best of both worlds. In terms of longer-term spin-off effects I was offered a future exhibition by another gallery so it's nice that my efforts got the ball rolling to some degree.
As for the cyber exhibit, I have no idea what that is. You simply put stuff up on a website? |

The best kind of exhibit is the kind where you get to sell your work. So if that is at a salon, then WORK! I've had exhibits in coffee shops that were way more successful (sales-wise) than galleries. I am always open to new exhibit possibilities.
And even tho Prince says the internets are dead I'm working on the cyber exhibit. Stay tuned. |
