how do you get rid of eyebrows with shaving them?

how often are u suppose to clean your brushes ?

does the type of base used for the eye depend on the skin tone or eyeshadow you use ?

is there a better way put on stripped lashes without using your hand and what is the best lash glue to use

the mac lady told me that putting white shadow on the corner of your eyes makes your eyes look bigger ,do you know any other techniques to make eyes look bigger

how do you make someones eyes look small ?

what are some good liquid and powdered foundations?

I was a makeup artist for some time.

You will find quality products in just about every price range. Don't get fooled into thinking that only the expensive stuff is worthwhile. When doing makeup for a specific brand I only used that line, but you will find your own perfect combination of Cheap -n- Chic. lol

Foundation is something I recommend going a bit high end on.

how do you get rid of eyebrows with shaving them? I assume you mean withOUT shaving them. Waxing and threading are popular, but you can go too far. I still think skillful plucking is the best way. Especially since a fuller, more natural brow has been popular recently.

how often are u suppose to clean your brushes ? Get a spray (Brush Off). Clean after every use. Just spray and wipe on a paper towel/tissues.

does the type of base used for the eye depend on the skin tone or eyeshadow you use ? I know they sell eyeshadow-primers but Concealer makes a great shadow base when going dramatic or for evening. For day, I've always just used concealer mixed with a bit of foundation on my clients.

is there a better way put on stripped lashes without using your hand and what is the best lash glue to use The regular inexpensive (can't remember brand names) lash glue you get from the drugstore works just fine. Take it from a former drag queen. wink

If you have a steady hand (don't wanna poke your eye shake) tweezers are a great way to get the lashes right up into the lash line.

the mac lady told me that putting white shadow on the corner of your eyes makes your eyes look bigger ,do you know any other techniques to make eyes look bigger

It doesn't really make your eyes look bigger, so much as it makes them look farther apart. White liner inside your lower lid makes them look bigger. To make eyes look smaller, dark eyeliner inside the lower lid.

what are some good liquid and powdered foundations?

Prescriptives always had great custom blend as well as large variety of colors. Bobbi Brown has nice range as well.

how do you get rid of eyebrows with shaving them? dont understand that question

how often are u suppose to clean your brushes ? if using on public sanitary spray after every use shampoo them once a week and dry upside down

does the type of base used for the eye depend on the skin tone or eyeshadow you use ? yes it can add color to make shadows more vibrant or it can tone them down

is there a better way put on stripped lashes without using your hand and what is the best lash glue to use yes always use tweezers it more sanitary and looks more professional i use a adhesive that mac sells

the mac lady told me that putting white shadow on the corner of your eyes makes your eyes look bigger ,do you know any other techniques to make eyes look bigger yes. full eyeliner on the tops and bottoms and inner rim really make the eyes look bold and bring them out

how do you make someones eyes look small ? that one is tricky it all on the shape, if you want smaller only line half the bottom do a smudge look if you line top and bottom the appear bigger more nude shadows help with this...

what are some good liquid and powdered foundations? liquid foundation i like mac i prefer for myself a cream to powder called studio tech for a powder i like there mineral foundation

[Edited 7/13/10 22:41pm]

i hope all the above helps if you have any more questions org note me i would love to help!

My foundation is the most expensive thing in my kit. Especially when you include the primer - which I always use. I'll also spend a little more for a good liner (Stila Smudgepots are great.)

I go cheap on mascara. Great Lash is still the best.

There are great tutorials on youtube for makeup application. One of my favorites is panacea81, subscribe to her!

Also I am a huge fan of false lashes. If you have a steady hand try to use the individual lashes rather than the bands if you are going for a 'day' look. They have kits with the glue and the remover (the glue is hardcore and if you put them on correctly they can last for days!) at places like CVS and Brooks.

Another tip: practice practice practice and BLEND BLEND BLEND!!!! You don't have to use really expensive makeup, but good brushes are a must IMO!

Good luck!

The makeup artists we deal with always say to spend the most on your foundation and your brushes, the least on eyeshadow and mascara, everything else falls inbetween.

Years ago I would've included shadows in the "spend more" category, but over the past 10 or so years less-expensive brands have really upped their game by offering great pigment-rich shadows. I would still recommend any harcore make up fan to get some Mac/Christian Dior/YSL just because the array of colors they offer is drool

Overall, there is a lot of trial and error. All products don't work the same on everyone.

I've spent a pretty penny on shadows when I find a color/combo that I like. (Dior gets me every time with their shadow compacts. redface )

But I've had great results with drug store brands like Revlon, too. nod

I'll also spend money on lipsticks - though I know you don't have to. Dior lipsticks have good staying power and they don't dry my lips out. But the best lip pencils I've used are Rimmel (super cheap drug store brand).

are the cheaper primers good? what about the body shop? I've never used one maybe that is why after 2 hours my makeup has melted off...can u get primers for combination skin?

Well...the primer I use isn't cheap. But you know what is? This stuff...

[img:$uid]http://a1468.g.akamai.net/f/1468/580/1d/pics.Drugstore.com/prodimg/139254/300.jpg[/img:$uid]

It's not meant to be used as a primer, but it really works well. I used it as a base for the very heavy make-up I had to wear for Narnia - because I didn't want all that dark foundation settling into my pores.

It has essentially the same ingredients as a primer. And because of the powder in it, it's mattifying, too (which is nice if you tend to get "shiny"). It also didn't make me break out - which I was worried about, because of all that make-up.

It's about a third of the price of the actual primer I use.
