this is the 3rd time he's done that....

yes, he has over 1,000 fans on his fb page, but when he saw that we passed him --- by 11 measly votes --- he posted on his wall that not only is he giving a discount to voters, but also giving away t-shirts (the number he gives away depends on how many votes he gets!) -- that was posted an hour before the flood (almost 193 votes in the last hour and a half!)

if you can afford to do all that, why the hell are u in this contest -?

Well, I do hope that the judges will take that into consideration. If I could give away merchandise I would, I guess but it does say something IMO of others being more in "need" of the prize. I don't blame him for wanting it. I mean, it is a 23,000 makeover and there's upgrades he won't have to pay for for 2 years so I get him wanting it.

I hope the judges see the merit/importance of what we're trying to do with LPS and that it's something different and it's potential and award us the prize but as far as I'm concerned it's a win win already. We're finalists so that means an almost 5K upgrade off the bat.

I know what whomever posted that was trynna do and Latin Pop Shop will respond in no way other than professionally and with composure.

I can't comment on the pay-per-vote thing as I did not see it but if I could afford to offer more than a store discount as an incentive to get votes (ie free tees) I guess I might.

I think they are because on the notice that I was a finalist (and press release I think ) it states that the votes are only PART of the criteria and what they will consider in choosing the winner.

Yes. Polls for public voting are officially closed. The Grand Prize winner will be announced on the 15th. So I can now breathe (and paint ) and we can all cross everything on our bodies until they make the announcement.

I received an email (it came via support@latinpopshop so I don't think they knew me) with an attachment of a screencap of an ad from the gorilla sacks people on Amazon paying .25 per vote.
